SOURCE: my canon pro 9000 is spitting ink on prints
I would start by removing the printhead and wiping any ink carefully from the bottom surface. Next unplug machine while the carriage is in the center, way over on the right is a wiping assembly that wipes the bottom of the printhead. Wipe any excess ink off these wipers with a q-tip or paper towel. Should help...
SOURCE: Pixma Pro 9000 Canon Printer is printing terribly
You need to check your nozzle check print and see if all the colors print. Also many generic inks are not the right color. Take out your yellow cartridge and see if it's still yellow, if it's orange or brown you need a new printhead, there's a membrane inside that keeps the colors separate and when it breaks you get cross contamination of the colors.
SOURCE: I have a Canon Pro 9000 and Mac OS X. Today,
I had this same problem with a different Canon printer connected to my AirPort. I first made sure it wasn't my printer by unplugging it from the wireless router (AirPort) and plugging it directly into my computer. Worked fine. My problem was solved by resetting the router to default, then reconfiguring my device name and password, plugging the printer back into it and now it prints great!
