Sometimes after I use the quick/touch volume buttons a big volume bar pops up in the middle of the screen, and i can't make it go away unless i exit the program or close my laptop. That's just to much of a pain how do I get this Volume bar go away.
Went to hp and talked to a support person who gave me this driver update: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38358.exe.. visit their website this is a pretty common probem....
Been dealing with this annoying problem for months. ftp site submitted by iryan74 was absolute solution. Volume bar no longer appears to disrupt my use of compter. THANK YOU!!
FYI - The link above in iryan74's paragraph needs to be copied and pasted in the browser bar. Clicking on the link does not work.
I have the same problem and did a little looking around. I found a way to avoid the problem not to fix it. I have a dv9933cl with Vista (64bit). Go the the search bar under the menu and search 'msconfig'. Under one of the tabs on the screen that appears after clicking 'Open msconfig' there will be a list of checked items. One of the items is named 'Quick Touch On Screen Display' deselect this item. Click 'Ok'. It should then prompt you to restart your computer. Do so. Your volume Touch Sensitive keys should now work properly with any application open but you will not get a display to show you the current volume level. If anyone finds futher infor please let me know. Hope this helps.
It's in the audio settings under control panel

This is a problem I have as well, it's absolutely ridicules. Sometimes it'll even go away after a few moments, only to come back the moment I move my mouse or the laptop itself.
