Model#106.59919702
The first thing I woulb check is the water filter itself. Water comes into the machine via the water valve, and from the valve it goes to the filter and the to its respective area, dispensor or ice maker. It's a very rare case that both the ice maker and water in the door stop working at the same time other than the filter being bad,

Hello,
There are as you can imagine many possible causes for you no ice condition. I will give you the most common problem for the year model you have. I hope this helps you.
You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment.
Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.

Tener, sounds like you have a module going bad. Pull off the white cover of the ice maker and take a look at the center white gear. There should be two clips securing the gear on. A lot of times these clips break and cause the gear not to rotate properly. Part number for the module is 628399. Take a look at this first. Catriver..post back
SOURCE: no water is going onto the ice maker (Maytag Model # MZD2766gew)
the water solenoid valve is normally triggered by the ice maker itself. as it turn to harvest the ice, it should trigger the water solenoid valve to start another cycle of ice making. its either a wire harness problem that's why power is not getting to the valve or the triggering switch of the ice maker not sending power to the solenoid. i hope i was able to help you guys...

ok follow these steps to trouble shoot 1st remove white cover from front of ice maker there you can now see the module of the unit .that would be part number 35 on the parts list. 2nd get a 12 gauge insulated wire about 2 inches long and stripp the ends of it . insert it in the two holes in front with letter h and t live there for about 20 seconds now look at the forks inside are they moving if yes check fill tube for a plug of ice that wont let water fill the the ice maker if no they dont move repl that part 35 you can repl your self just disconnect unit remove the three bronze philip screws and pull out ahh but first remove wire harness so it will be easy to pull out ok thanks
SOURCE: No ice from icemaker of Kenmore Elite model 106
I just resolved an issue with my kenmore elite side by side refrigerator icemaker (model 106).
It was expensive because I took the long road to fixing the unit myself.
My problem: No water going up to the freezer water dispenser into the icemaker but the water in front of the door working just fine.
-first thing i tried was the simplest. The Internet is clogged with this miracle fix of using a hair dryer to melt the frozen water line going to the dispenser output. This is highly unlikely for our model since the water line is protected within the refrigerator frame.
-2nd thing I replaced my water filter (thinking that there wasn't enough water pressure to trigger the solenoid valve. $40, and still no luck.
-3rd thing was I tested for voltage going to the solenoid. No voltage going to solenoid, so I wasted $30 for a new solenoid.....still no water.
-4th thing was I ordered a new IR sensor and receiver (since the reciever end is where the relay that sends the voltage to the solenoid to turn on and allow water to go up to the dispenser).
My IR sender and receiver appeared to be working flakey.
Installed, still no water. $58 BUCKS ON EBAY (EVERYWHERE ELSE $100+)
-I finally removed the freezer front little white door, I TURNED OFF THE FREEZER SWITCH SO NO VOLTAGE WAS PRESENT, removed the release latch underneath the freezer unit and disconnected, and removed the freezer unit to inspect it further.
When I removed the protective white cover that covers the mechanical wheel, I had a few parts come flying out of it. Turns out that the wheel accessories were damaged. THERE ARE NO REPAIRABLE PARTS ON THE FREEZER UNIT. I FOUND ONE ON EBAY FOR $39 BUCKS + $9 SHIPPING! $48 BUCKS, SWAPPED THE HARNESS AND BOTTOM COVER, AND IN 20 MINUTES, I WAS BACK IN BUSINESS. STARTED MAKING ICE IN ABOUT A HALF HOUR!!!!!
when in doubt, replace the freezer unit for $48 bucks! 7 out of 10 times it will fix your problems. All techs replace the IR set at the same time too which will set you back another $58 bucks.
Good luck! ;)
