SOURCE: my drain hole is stripped on my hayward pool pump

There are a couple of ways to do this repair, First way is to buy a reducer bushing (threads on the inside and smooth surface on the outside), drill out the hole to tightly fit the bushing, and prime and glue it in place. The second way is to buy a tap (the next size up), buy a brass reduser bushing with threads on both the inside and outside. If you dont have enough material to inxdease thr hole size, then you will need to buy some J.B. weld and fill the hole, wait 16 to 25 hours to drill and tap

How do i clean and backwash my krystal clear saltwater system model cs8110 pool. Also it is very cloudy and I cant see the bottom of my pool

Hello... Is this your first pool? If so, do you have a local pool chemical supply company? They will test a sample of your pool water with way better equipment than the test strips... Than they will tell you exactly what you need and how to apply them... This is my 4th year with this salt system and 18'x 4' intex pool... Starting them up is tricky and it still takes me weeks to get it right... But the pool store told me how to start it up for next year so hopefully it won't take as long...
The phrase backwash referes to cleaning the filter... With the intex filter/pump system, that is the filter cargtridge that inserts into the pump/filter housing... Close the pool valves, open the filter cartridge housing, take the filter out and hose it down with a garden hose... Before you return the filter, dump out the nasty water sitting in the filer/pump housing... the Return the filter, screw back on the cap, open the pool valves and open the vent screw on top of the filter cartridge housing lid... This allows the pool water to flow back into the filter/pump and removes unwanted air pockets in the hoses... Once the water flows out of the vent screw, screw it back down to stop the water coming out... Now your down backwashing the filer...

Hope this helps,

Hi, everyone! I've been trying to repair my Mom's 2004 Bissell Powerlifter (i.e., "the maroon one") for the past month or so, as it had quit spraying solution about a year ago. After reading many of the...

Not sure what you mean by "stripped". Do you mean the threads, or the Phillips head?

If the threads are stripped, then it's safe to assume it's not gripping very well and you might be able to *carefully* pry the housing apart with the screw still in place.

If the Phillips head is stripped (screwdriver won't grip) then it's a different ball game. Drilling the head off is one way, but if your drill is even slightly off-center it won't work and you'll end up drilling the housing.

If you can't drill it, then there's only one thing left that I can think of, and that's to cut through the screw at the housing joint line. Use a very fine tooth hacksaw blade in a holder like the one pictured. Use a shallow angle while sawing so you don't damage anything inside. Doing this will leave a slot in the housing, but you can tape over it on re-assembly.

Is a knob that won't tighten on hayward pump normal wear and tear?

it is possible that the knob was overtightened. check the slipping knob to see if there is a crack in the shaft. the other option is that it is stripped.
either way, it will not be considered normal wear but you should be able to find a replacement knob at your local store

What is the solution for a knob that won't tighten on Hayward Super Pump?

Sounds like it is stripped out. This does happen overtime. You need a new Hand Knob Kit. You can find one here:

Hope this helps.

Pool Filter blowing water through clamp when starting up

One possibility is to use a Sharpie to mark where the tension ring sits, circumference-wise, after tightening it. Next day or two, when the water blows through note where the space between the mark you made and the adjustment screw. If there is a space, the tension ring is obviously stripped. Also, have you considered a crack in the pump housing???

I disassembled the pump but I can't get the impeller off. It's stripped and needs replacing. I don't want to force it and break something else. What is the best way to remove the impeller? It's the No

I broke the outer circle of the impeller off with a screw driver and then used a Dremel tool to cut the plastic down to the shaft so I could break if off the threaded shaft.

Lamp replacement

You defiantly need to get the stripped screw out. When I encounter a stripped screw, I use my dremil tool with a cutting wheel on it to cut the screw off. After you do finally get the screw cut off ( and this can defiantly be a pain straken ordeal ) you should be able remove the remaining screw bottom with a pair of needle nose pliers. Replace the lamp at that point and find a screw with a bigger diameter ( a serf tapping would work well ) and tread it back. Good Luck. I do know you are in for a frustrating time, but with a lot of Patience, you'le do well.
