When I tried to print a document I got an error message saying something like "internal parts out out of date, return printer to supplier". Both lights started, and continue, to flash. I tried reloading the driver software to no avail.
If you have cleaned out the ink pads,The Waste ink counter now wants reseting ,theres a prog on your PC internet called CSS or SCC !....Local PC shops willfix £20 ISH...John T ..JK
I don't have the solution, mine did the same thing a couple weeks ago, just after buying a lot(15) of cartridges. I called Epson support, who wanted 10 dollars to talk to me, I talked em out of it. That kind of message means internal error. There is no fix they say, and they offered me discounts on a new printer, but the C42ux is out of production. I'm still trying to learn more to fix it myself.

The actual error message was "Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See dealer for replacements" The red light is continuously flashing and the printer refuses to work.
