Error E0 When I turn the copier and go to make a copy it give me an E0 error and then turns itself off.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2012

When I turn the copier on it looks fine and when I push the start button it acts like it is going to copy and starts to feed the paper and then it give the E0 error code and shuts off.

None of the suggestions below helped I don't have any of those buttons.

Error E0 results from the copier being turned off and on immediately after an error. Most likely there is another underlying error on your copier that needs to be resolved, but in some cases leaving the copier powered off for a couple hours can resolve the problem automatically. If you see another error code (most likely E000, E001, E002, or E003), your copier may need repairs.

ont. Panel, press the following, one after the other, * (additional functions), 2, 8, * (additional functions). You are now in Service Mode. Touch the Function Tab, touch the Clear button, touch the ERR button, when it is highlighted, press the OK button at the botton of screen. Power Cylce unit. If it comes back up, may have been a fluke. However, if it comes back, check your Fixing Assy for jammed paper, or damage to the Fixing Film (Upper Roller). Replacing the Film is not hard. After you remove the Fixing Assy., its a couple cables and springs. Rather on the easy side for Film replacements. Remebmer, on these models, the Film is also the Heater and Upper Fixing Roller. The Film is most likely on the pricey side for new, believe you can find rebuilds. Just keep in mind that the Film is still a lil' bit cheaper then the whole assy., and 8 out 10 times, its the Film that fails in the asssy

SOURCE: copier 212 error code U4

That is a fuser code. May be a bad heat rod or just need reset.
Here is how to reset it.

Enter diagnostics, Here is the procedure.

To enter diagnostics:
Hold down ‘0’ while turning on the Power the console will light up. Press ‘Stop/Clear’, the lights will shut off & --- will appear in the display Wait 30 seconds for the optics to complete a self-test before you enter any diagnostic test codes. Never turn off the power before the optics stop moving (or you’ll get a U2 code & possibly some unpleasant noises from the Scan Drive Motor).

Next setp is to use the code to clear the U$ code.
*To clear a fuser code:(401)
Enter diagnostics, wait 30 seconds for the optics to initialize, enter ‘401’ followed by ‘Print’, then shut down the power & wait 10 seconds before switching power back on.

That will normally clear that problem. Often times when a machine has set for a long time they wont warm up right and pop that code.
Another thing, if you can get the machine to warm up and come ot ready then it pops up a U4. Open that right side door. You will see this silver, looks like a small saw blade. It should be silver, but it will have a lot of ink built up on it, take a soft brush and clean it with that.
Let me know, if hte code 401 doesnt clear it, then the heat rod would have to be replaced. If that happens please let me know and we will procede from there.

I have an error code E0 on Cannon NP6012 copier. I just changed the toner and each time I turn on the machine the code E0 pops up and the machine switches itself off. I do not have the manual.

The Unset E00* - remove front cover (not disconnecting train); under her on charge (not far from round flat battery) neatly, connected between itself contacts JP103 and JP104, include the device. Switch off. Open the contacts.

E0 message

It has a fuser error, needs new fuser, will not just reset when error is present.

The fuser is the hot bit that the paer goes threw to bond the image on the paper, yours has a blown heat lamp or a faulty temp sensor (thermister)

This area is not for playing in cause it is a electrical and fire hazard, just have new fuser fitted and error will be gone.
