I need help. my desktop will prompt me "Bad Directsound Driver". what should i do to solve this problem?..I lost my cd for my my drivers.

Direct sound is an API (Application Protocol Interface) in the DirectX package from Microsoft.

There are two primary components to directsound.
The API driver which you can reinstall by downloading DirectX from microsoft and reinstalling it.

And the Hardware Driver. Which you can download from the website of your soundcards manufacturer.

Try reinstall both of these and see if that fixes things, If not message us back here with your results and we'll do our best to get you goin.

you need to update the drivers of sound card, if no update kindly reinstall the sound card drivers and download latest directx.

Bad direct sound driver error 88780078
1.) Open Winamp
2.) Press and hold down Ctrl+P (for preferences)
3.) Go to Plug-ins --> Output
4.) Double click on "DirectSound output"
5.) Click on the Driver tab
6.) Make sure the device in the drop-down list correctly reflects your soundcard.

Further DirectSound config tweaks....

Direct sound driver problem
Hi , If you have lost sound check if u have not put on Mute, If not follow the below steps.
Go To Start + Program+Accessories+System Tools
And Select System Restore .

Restore an earlier Date and it will restart.

This will solve sound issue i suppose.

Problem in the Sound driver
you need to install the compatible relatek high definition audio driver. go to www.driverguide.com and download and install the driver compatible to your hardware. If its a branded computer go their website and download the drivers from there.
