Hi Redd, You might have better luck posting this under Sharp TVs: http://www.fixya.com/support/sharp/standard_televisions The black lines at the top of the screen are usually an indication of a problem with the vertical output section. It's often bad electrolytic capacitors, the vertical IC, or both. That's apparently not a US model, so it will be hard to find the values but you could contact Sharp Philippines: SHARP (PHILS.) Look into the connector and see the point of contact which is visible of the metal contacts. Now the carbon tracks must be on the side of the metal contacts of the connector. In this case it is possible that while you pulled out the flexible stip cord there is damage on the strip , can be that the carbon tracks were damaged and so it does not contact. if so use a carbon track pen to line the tracks so as to contact.
Reversing the cord will not do any damage as there will not be any contact.
finally make sure that the PCB( printed circuit board) was washed with petrol and brushed properly and then DRIED before the unit was powered or else it can damage the processor.
Check the connection leads that were removed and make sure that it went to the correct postion.
Sometimes the touch pads refuse to work once it is disturbed as it might get damaged in the carbon tracks within.

How to test resistor

HI.You can actually tets a resistor using a MULTITESTER.Set It first to OMHS value.set it to the lowest omhs value.Connecttone end of the tester's to one of te resistor and the other end as well. Now if it gives you a reading a small reading ,itmeans it's not defective and if otherwise it won'T itsdefective the other way around. Now if the reading iss infinite means that TESTERS pointer moves to its maximum,it will also be conidered defective.Esistor has color conding on it.If the reading does not match to its color coding value, then It iS also defective.hope this steps helps you.thank you for choosing FIXYA.

Does not work. has F2 displayed on screen.155l model khm

hello,

This error code on a Kitchen Aid range indicates a keypad short on the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the operator console. The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can generally find replacement parts at these websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.

Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-your self offer. If you decide to order the part and wish to repair this on your own, follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.

2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.

3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.

4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.

NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board, write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).

5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.

NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down. If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.

6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging the board.
I hope this information helps you.

Sharp microwave oven R345 M 900 watts

In most cases the displays are protected by a low value resistor which could have burned out. First someone needs to determine if the display is getting the proper voltage. If it is and still does not work you need a display. If it isn't getting any power follow the circuit back to the power supply and you'll probably find an open resistor or micro fuse (which looks like a resistor).
