For the M925G I can find a V8.0 and v9.1b motherboard on the PC Chips web site but not a v7.3. At any rate this manual clearly shows there should be an option to enable or disable the Ethernet port on the BIOS Features Setup Page near the bottom. If the option is not there and I would be more inclined to think that the wrong firmware may have been flashed to your board. You might try downloading and flashing the BIOS update again, making sure the checksums match when the procedure is complete. By the way the link to the manual I?m referring to is here: http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?MenuID=0&LanID=2&DetailID=255&DetailName=Manual.

M925 v7.3 motherboard not booting from cd rom

Hello download the manual here:

http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=231&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Manual&MenuID=45&LanID=0

You willl need adobe reader to read content.

Enter the bios (press the delete button under post) and select the boot option for the drive.

The bios must be set to boot from cd/dvd first.
Read the manual how to do this.
And second the harddrive.
Remember to save your work when done.

Good luck

I have installed the ethernet controler driver but its not working

If it's pic card installed on motherboard then reconnect it into it's slot. Then uninstall driver from device manager and control panel->add remove programs then reinstall driver then check. Also check in bios that ehterrnet lan is enabled on bios. When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT+F2 key to enter in bios then go to advanced and enable ethernet lan option then save settings and exit from bios.Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I got a new SATA 500gb HDD but the motherboard wont detect it.

Access to your Bios Setup & configure the Bios settings.

Features Setup Page : This page sets up some parameters for peripheral devices connected to the system.

CMOS SETUP UTILITY - Copyright (C) 1985-2003, American Megatrends, Inc.
Features Setup
OnBoard Floppy Controller : Enabled
Serial Port1 Address 3F8/IRQ4 : Enabled
OnBoard IR Port : Disabled
Parallel Port Address : 378
Parrllel Port Mode : ECP
ECP Mode DMA Chnnel : DMA3
Parallel Port IRQ : IRQ7
OnBoard PCI IDE Controller : Both
OnBoard SATA-IDE
: Enabled *(Make sure This is enabled)
Audio Device : Enabled
Modem Device : Auto
Ethernet Device : Enabled

If you have got a SATA III HDD, ie if it is a Western Digital Sata III you need to configure the jumpers to work with your older Sata interface port.(Only Sata 1 & 2 ports on your Mainboard Socket 478). As for Seagate Sata III HDD, the configuration is automatic.

If your 500GD HDD is not detected, try updating the BIOS!
A word of caution "Updating the Bios is not for the Novice" Do it at your own risk. Failure in updating the Bios may render your Mainboard useless.

Hope it helps.

I'm looking for Bios update and drivers for a board that is hard to find. Its a ECS M925 1.0 board. chipset: via p4m266 (vt8751). southbirdge: via VT8235. Bios: American Megatrends Inc. v.0700T date...

Hi Jenkins21448,

I believe your mean PCChips M925. ECS didn't make a M925 board.
So you can find the PCChips bios and drivers HERE. If you download the manual there is a drawing of the motherboard for you to compare, to make sure you have the right drivers. But, you may be right that that board you have is extremely rare. I've never seen or heard of ECS making a M925. Check out the picture to be sure.

Thanks

Hi,
You need to go into the BIOS and see if the LAN port had been disabled.
To do this restart your computer and hit the Del key, that will get you into the BIOS, look for On-board Devices and check that the LAN is enabled.

Good luck.

My Mdoem's ethernet and usb lights are off

assuming you using ethernet to connect the pc to the modem: how about checking your ethernetLAN card on the pc if it's integrated with the motherboard you can enable it from the bios settings if it's an expansion card it sounds like you need the most up to date driver which can be downloaded from the card manufacturer's website if you have access to internet on another pc. assuming your pc is connected to the modem via usb: reinstall the driver for the modem . another thing you can do is buy a usb to ethernet adapter which are available for under $5 on the market one end connects to the usb port on your pc and the other end is ethernet and this should work .
