Frigidair Gallery self cleaning stove

I have a Frigidaire Gallery self cleaning stove with convection oven. The model # is CGLEF386AS4. When I turn on the oven the bottom element will not come on. I have checked the element with a metre and it appears ok. When you turn on the oven and dial in the desired temperature it will show the tmperature and then drop back to 100 degrees. The bottom element will not come on the fan does however come on. I have changed the thermostat and this has not solve the problem. Can you tell me what else it might be?

If you don't want to spend the money for an entire board, I saw someone on ebay that sells just the relay. Its pretty simple to unsolder the old one and solder in the new one. Do a search for the part number on your relay which is probably T9AV5L12-12 and is notorious for going bad. I have not been able to find those relays anywhere else.

Hey charles

This often happens after you have gone through a cleaning cycle. In most cases the relay contacts has been welded shut to one side or burnt off. The relay can be replaced or the contact freed. Otherwise the controller (clock) has to be replaced (easier).

No heat on convection or self clean

If you have been using the self clean feature, you have probably burned out or damaged the connections to the fan and the convection fan element or thermistor. NEVER EVER use the self clean feature.

Why ist myoven preheating anymore?

Good Morning Jo Rown,
I understand that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire oven not preheating anymore. I will be more than happy to assist you. In order to do so, I will kindly ask you for some more information. I will need the exact model number of your oven as well as what happens when you turn your appliance on. I want to know if it heats up at all or if you're not getting any heat from your oven. Looking forward to hearing from you.
-Best Regards-

The control panel lights do not work nor does the oven. all the burners work fine this is a convection oven with a smooth top Gallery series

Check your main breaker in the fuse panel, it may be partially tripped. Turn the 40 amp breaker off and back on. if the display does not return to the stove, the I would suggest you contact a local servicer.

Frigidaire gallery stove, oven not working,

Morison,
The same thing happened to me about a week ago. I was preheating our electric oven, heard a very loud bang/pop. Checked and the oven had PF (power failure) I went downstairs and the breaker was tripped. Came back upstairs and to look at stove, the burners are working fine so I continued to preheat oven after a half an hour the oven was only slightly warm. Did you ever find out what was wrong?
