Hi, I have a problem downloading my pictures from my camera to my computer. The camera indicates its connected to the computer. When I try to download the pictures the message comes up no "no camera found." I have a program corel 6 and it will download the pictures, however I like the zoom browser better. Hope you can help me. Thank you
Uninstall and reinstall the Zoombrowser. It looks like a driver or something with the program is corrupt. But, first read on before doing anything.
But, before doing the above, check the software and camera configuration. Also check to see that there are no other active programs running in the computer that may be taking presidence over the Canon software and accessing control of the camera's port, thus blocking Canon's software from being able to read the camera.
You can try calling Canon's tech support and ask the question. They will know their product the best.

Microdrive:
A microdrive can fail much easier than a solid state memory card. I have had them fail. Mircodrives are fairly fragile compared to memory cards. Microdrives are mechanical devices. The new generation of memory cards are excellent.
I have an old digital camera with an IBM 1 GB microdrive. The present drive still works! It was terribly expensive when I bought it about 4 years ago. I am now using a 2 GB solid state memory card. I found it to be superior to the old microdrive.

My G3 camera equipped with a microdrive is no longer recognized by computers (macs or pcs). I got a new connecting cable (assuming that had gone bad) when the problem began and I could still eventually get my macintosh computer to recognize the camera after several attempts. Didn't help. Is it possible that something has gone bad with the microdrive?
