everything works on the microphone but when you sing, you can't hear your voice and the karaoke program rates your score as 0 which makes me think it is not picking up the voice at all. any solutions?

No sound comes out of microphone. Sound and music works on tv but no sound from mic. This may be a little older model its called magic mic ll.

Same thing. Everything works, except the mic part. Voice doesn't come out. It's not the RCA because you can hear the music. It wasn't working for a while, but one day my son was playing with it and it started working for that day only. After that went back to no voice.

I'm thinking he might have pressed some kind of reset sequence which made it work.

I have the same problem. I've tried everything. Emailed for assistance and he said we needed to get a new rca cable, but the rca cables are part of the microphone!

Everything else works perfectly. We've only used ours about 1/2 a dozen times, so the problem isn't due to wear and tear.

    Help would be much appreciated!

Hi there..if there is video and background audio coming out from the TV, and no voice recognition from the mic- then mic is the problem. I believed the problem is the "voice coil". This is a part that can be replaced- you can contact me and we can repair that.

two ways to check
remove the mic ball
the part which the mic ball is is covering is the voice coil.
try holding both terminals (black and white wire)- if there is feedback sound- it is open and need to be replaced
try using your tester- test the impedance- there should be 500- 600 ohms reading

Same problem with eg 18000 mic, put new batteries, still no vocals. i have 2 mics. the one mic has vocals but the other doesn't work.

solution : charge the mic using the terminal, try switching the mics around. 1 slot probably doesn't charge. hope this is helpful. worked for me.

I have connected the Magic Sing to a HD TV and a home theatre system and now get a sound-lag between the voice and the sound on the home theatre. Any ideas?

You need to connect directly the sound wire of your magic sing to your home theather while the video wire of your magic sing directly to your hdtv. If its difficult to do because of distance, buy an rca extension to extend your magic sing wire to make it reach to the other end.

How do you teach someone to project when they sing?

i also am not really good at this but ive been a member of our school choral since elementary, hs and college, church choir too.. we dont get lectures about singing but we were taught that for our voice to come out good we have to open our mouth wide.. like when we say "O", open our mouth wide enough to fit 3 fingers... dunno how to explai it but it works especially if you're singing without microphone, that is to exaggerate your voice.. then you have to feel of course what youre singing, facial expressions is also a way to project...

do vocalizations, exercise for singing, inhaling and exhaling..etc

then when singing, youve to know when to inhale and exhale so that you wont sound like you lack oxygen.... to not try to sing too high pitched song (if you sing like mariah well u can) if u cant, try to sing songs according to your pitch, so that you can project or sing it well without cracking, hmm like sounding flat or sharp..

good luck..

and btw, i think there are tutorials on youtube for singing lessons.

if my suggestion andonline lessons doesnt work then try to attend voice lessons with pro.. smile!

2-second delay with Magic Sing

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.

NO BACKGOUND VOCALS

Hi im joe,
Regarding your concern the ET 3000 magic sing does not have background vocals at all. The manufacturer design the magic sing for sing along purposes only but they are now improving there future products to have that feature with background vocals.

Magic sing....i cant hear my voice or anything but all videos and songs are fine help!

you need to replace the voice coil. it is already grounded, that is the one inside the mic ball (where you speak or sing). it is not repairable so you need to purchase a new voice coil
