Combustion Air Switch Failed to Close

The light is blinking green 3 times. The legend says that means "Combustion Air Switch Failed to Close". I am not sure how to fix the issue.

Got it thanks to Brandon's suggestion. We ended up having to take the switch off the mount, unscrew the square center screw, remove the spring, blow into it, spray a lil' WD40 in there, remounted and voila - we have lift off!

I have this furnace in two of my mobile homes. In both I had to take off the inducer motor (i think that's what it's called)..it has the clear air tube attached to it. Remove the 4 screws or top two if you have small fingers and give the wheel inside at the bottom a push. These tend to stick over years of use and in both cases once freed the furnace came on. I too had 3 flashes in both cases.

SOURCE: Have a coleman furnace and

There will be a small tube that goes from the induction blower housing to the switch itself. Try to blow and **** through this tube with it attached to the switch. If you hear a click on the inside of the switch, it is good, if not, then it needs to be replaced. Another thing to try, take a small wire or paperclip and poke through the hole that the hose came off of on the housing, sometimes this gets clogged and will cause the same problem. Other than that, it will be a blocked flue or the inductive blower itself not performing properly. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have a coleman/evcon model DGAT070bdf I have the thermostat set at 74 but furnace is shutting off at about 64 degrees I did notice that the mother board's green led light is blinking 4 times.

Steady light on - normal operation.
One flash - ignition failure.
Two flashes - combustion air switch stuck closed.
Three flashes - combustion air switch failed to close.
Four flashes - limit switch open.
Five flashes - gas valve energized with no call for heat.
Rapid flashing - reversed polarity.

Note: Color of light is green.

I have an Olsen furnace. It's not running and there is a red light blinking. What's wrong?

Count the blinks in between pauses. On the door of the furnace will be a legend that tells you what that number of blinks mean. For instance 3 blinks may mean open limit switch or pressure switch failed to close, something like that. Post here what it tells you then we can help.

Have a Evcon Coleman Furnace shows three green blinking lights but will not ignight what could be wrong

I have had the same problem with mine for the last 2 years. Remove the motor on the side of the furnace(usually held on by 3 screws) and turn the fan blades inside by hand. after sitting all summer it seems to get stuck. If it moves freely, replace the motor and try to start it again. This fixed mine the last 2 years! Hope this helped.

Evcon, 3 flashes, combustion air switrch failed to

I have 2 of these furnaces in mobile homes I own. On both of these the wheel inside the draft inducer blower that has the clear tube attached to it has a small wheel in it that over time tends to stick. Take the 4 screws out and give this little wheel located towards the bottom a push. Your problem may be solved without investing in expensive parts :)

My Colman forced air heater is cycling acording to the thrmastat but wont heat up. The trouble shooting light flashes three times. What part do you think is failing?

3 flashes is the combustion pressure switch . Mounted on the front mid high. Two silicone hoses run to it along with blue two wires. By now you have probaly got this fixed though.

Turning heater on : combustion air switch failed to close?

This air switch proves that the inducer motor is running and moving air. If not, check to make sure that the inducer motor starts and that the flue is free of restrictions.....eg. bird nest, ice/snow, or some other critter that found a new home.

Heater flashes 3 times says it means combustion switch failed to close

Combustion switch is your vent safety.. Check your vents outside for blockage, sometimes the intake pipe will freeze or frost up not allowing the preassure switch(vent safety)to close. putting furnace into a lock out.. you can reset the furnace by turning the power on and off.. if there is no power switch just remove the bottom door and reinstall...

Furnace shuts off

Defective combustion air switch. The 3 blinks are an error code. You didn't say, but I'm guessing you have a Coleman Evcon. They had alot of defective Combustion air switches. Your specialists were not that.
