These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.
When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others. You can get moreinformation and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.
Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...
*Screen Looks 3-D *Colors wont align *Screen may look distorted or warped *No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound
Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.
Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

Does the red light blink? If so how many times? If the tv has never been worked on most likely the lamp is bad. That will cause shut off it would normally blink 3 x if so.Check the lamp and see what condition it is in.thx
1) Does it look the same when you play a DVD etc or is it just with the sat receiver? If the same either way signal is not the problem.
2) On the set, turn the color all the way off and go if you can find one to a channel that is in black and white---What color is the screen? It should be something like a black and white picture.
The model indicated has a long history of problems with the three picture tubes.
If the picture is not black and white etc there is a manual way (not with the remote) to try to adjust for this---depending on your answer to the above I can tell you exactly how to do this---takes about 10 minutes and a Philips screwdriver---you do not have to be a tech to do it.
If I have told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.
What you describe is probably a color convergence collapse, usually caused by a power amplifier failure, refer to the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esk4nYZKFcg if this video is close to what you see on your TV you will need to replace both power convergence IC, the model KP57WS510(model given in your post) calls for STK392-510 both are available through UED, email [email protected], the above link gives an idea on what is needed for the IC replacement, that is if you're thinking of repairing the problem yourself.
