HP LaserJet 2420 printing problem

When I try to print, the computer acts like it thinks the page printed, but nothing comes across to the printer. I have reloaded drivers and changed out USB cables but nothing has worked. When I do a standalone print test on the printer, it prints fine.

    I am not aware of any software, hardware, network, or system changes that occurred prior to the printer stopping working.



    I have never seen a case where the computer thinks that the page has printed but nothing shows up on the printer. If I do a test page, it says the test page has successfully completed.

I want duplex printing for hp 2420
The only way to duplex print on a standard 2420 is to print the first page, then take that page and re-insert it into the paper tray face up. Then print page 2 onto the back of page 1. If you want to automatically duplex print then you need a 2420DN printer which has the duplexing paper path as well as the formatter board with the duplex firmware.

I think that Odyssey user is right it maybe that the print driver is not compatible with the program you are using goto hp.com or hp.co.uk and download the PCL 5e driver

Hi within the driver printing preferences you are able to change the graphic mode if you do this it may help. Without seeing what you are trying to print cannot give a accurate answer so try this and get back to me if this doesn't work

Hp 2420 printing light on left side of page
take out cartridge and look at roller on bottom of printer, clean with clean cloth and try, also there is a slit ( or hole on the inside ( put your hand inside and try to touch the top of printer there is a hole there where the images go to the laser clean with clean lint free cloth.

Printing only 1/2 the page
print a demo page(which is in the menu)if it comes out ok,it's either the drivers or possibly the formatter board.if demo is not of,it could be the cartridge.i could help you better if i know which half(right to left or top to bottom)
