Question about Akai LCT2060 Television

Initial power-up brand new TV (LCD) 20 in.... 2 wks old. ( AKAI -LCD2016 ) Has been working good for 2 weeks. Now, it shows no red power-light indicator, Also no green light indicator either, although the screen will turn white when I hit the "on" button, then after about one minute, it fades to nothing. Then, when I hit the on-off button, it turns off. ..I'm not getting any picture. I'm using cable TV system. (no dish).. Got a solution? Please help... it's a Christmas gift.

I just got done fixing an Akai LCT2660 that had four bad capacitors on the power board.Works perfect now.Hope this helps.Thank You very much!

Read the info from the link below to troubleshoot the failure with your LCD. Try not for force the LCD to work because for the time being it might only need the capacitors listed in the link but if the lights is blinking red, then the failure is a bit more complex to repair.

PROTRON 26 TWO YEARS OLD

Symptoms of a Defective or dying Power supplies on LCD TVs.
1. Light(s) on the front panel are behaving not normal example, blinking, amber color or not steady, fainting, etc.
2. TV not turning ON properly.
3. TV turns OFF by itself.
4. Needs to be unplug to many times to make it work.
5. Humming or high pitch noise heard through speakers or at the back of the TV.

Your power supply is bad. This model came with a bad design. Your supply may have a green light on the black box, but it is putting out low voltage or amps. Replace it and you should be good to go.

Akai Plasma TV's screen suddenly went blank -model PDP4294

Same thing for me. TV just turned off one day and won't come back on. LED flashes red. Someone said it's because a cooling fan went out. If I can't find someone to fix it I'll take it apart and tinker myself. 32" with dvd built in was barely over a year old.
