it might be the battery, try plugging it in while doing that.

try this right-click on My computer->click Properties->Click Hardware tab->Device Manager->now double-click on sound video & game controllers and see if there are exclamatory marks next to any of the devices..If it is then let me know and i will help you to troubleshoot it..
