I lost the cd for this wireless usb adapter (if there ever was one) and i am trying to install it on a new computer. After I plug it in to my usb port the Found New Hardware wizard comes up but is unable to install it after trying to locate the software/drivers on the internet and unfortunately my search has come up dry as well. I have tried belkin.com and find my product but there are no software/drivers listed to download. Please help.
Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question mark? right click install drivers the driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider or the motherboard disc or you might download one if you dont have on a disk

hope one of these helps
thanks for the reply Brian. it doesn't look like the software was on the usb. after right clicking on the yellow question mark it only gives me the option to update the driver, which leads me to the wizard. I tried your links but the first one is no longer available to download and the second is only available to download from an external site. it leads me to www.ti.com where i tried to locate the download to no avail. its a circus trying to navigate that site.
could you possibly provide a direct link to a driver that may work?
any help is much appreciated. thanks!
when prompted to go to external site next page you will see if no download click here click on that and the it will start downloading

SOURCE: lost cd rom to download Linksys wireless G notebook adapter
Hello there.
You can download the drivers (that are usually on the CD) from here. Please select your 'Version' from the list. You can look at the back of the device to find out which one you have, as there are many called WPC54G. Then after choosing the version click GO then click on 'Driver' to start the download.
This will let your wireless device function on your laptop computer.
Hope this helps.

do you have a Wireless Router + Broadband modem? This is like a base station to which your remote wireless node communicates (to get connected to your home network and internet. something like this http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=187337 for an ADSL connection. If you are on cable, you can either get a Router similar to the one above (but for cable) http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1138056788757&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=8875739789B01 or if your Cable modem has LAN ports you may just be able to use an "Access Point" to add Wireless capabilities. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1126536803676&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=0367639789B22

seems we do need signed 64bit drivers within hardware. Since our old or current adapter doesn't have it, meaning we would need a new adapter that has it. I think the problem with 2wire and other ISPs using their products is that they don't reveal specific model names, numbers, etc on each to help us recongize what we need.
