Hanging print queue on Canon iR2200-3300

For a while we have been having a problem with printing on our
Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e which was setup for us on our Microsoft 2003 server.

For the most part it works just fine. However, sometimes, often while
trying to print from Ancestry.com it hangs with print outs waiting to be
printed. I have tried to determine if this problem occurs using something
other than Ancestry.com but have not been able to get another client to
fail with printouts waiting to be printed. However, there are reports of
other programs that produce the hanging queue problem.

It is difficult to clear the hanging printouts. Many times I have been
able to cancel all queued printouts except the first one on the list. When I have deleted the printer and reinstalled the server Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e the offending printout is still there in the queue.

Here is an example of how I cleared the queue this morning.

1. Place Deep Freeze in a Thawed state.
2. Delete the server Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e
3. Shut Down the computer (NOT A RESTART)
4. Wait about 20-30 seconds
5. Boot the machine in a Thawed state
6. Install the server Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e
7. Shut Down the computer (NOT A RESTART)
8. Boot the machine in a Frozen state

At this point the hanging queue printout in server Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e got cleared on that machine.

What is interesting is that if we install the Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e
locally using an IP address of 10.232.140.7 the hanging problem is not common but does exist on the local install. Also, while experiencing the hanging queue problem on the server Canon iR2200-3300 PCL5e we can still print to either of our HP LaserJet 4200 PS printers. We have NEVER had a hanging queue problem on our two HP LaserJet 4200 PS, which are installed locally not server using IP address of 10.232.140.5 and 10.232.140.6

We would like to solve the hanging queue problem. Any ideas of what to do?

Hi, Apart from the print drivers setup, there is the print server which usually hangs due to overflow for requests.The priority of the print plays a major role here as the highest priority print occupies the first place, and thereby prolongs the successive prints and due to the volume of the network it hangs. Solution: Restart the print server and delete the prints in the queue Restart the printer as well and check the spool process

Canon 4150 wont print , goes into queue

Have you gone into the queue and deleted the print jobs and started again? Do you have any error lights? If so there could be a hardware problem with the printer.
Try taking out the toner and putting it back in. Sometimes that will force the printer to reset intself.
If that doesn't help then you may have to delete the printer from the system and re-install it.

Yes, you are correct in that you have to select the USB port from the driver in order for the printer to print to USB, or install another driver for the USB port.

In Print settings if using PCL select Print as Image. Also Spool Printing. Use PCL5e or PS drivers.

check online to see if there has been any new update for that print server.

clear the job and try again.

make sure the print sever is plug into different outlet And the sever or the pc in different outlet.
