Same problem white screen comes on when I'm trying to use the camera

Hey, Does any one have any other solutions to this problem? Is this a common problem with Fuji? If so does Fuji know about it or is it under some type of warrantee? Heeeelp! Thank you in advance. Goodwin.

I have had exactly the same problem and annoyed because fuji said it was probably the main sensor a fixed price of £95 to repair a last ditch attempt i played with the white balance which was set to auto i moved it up to outside fluorescent mode and a picture came into veiw then back to auto so far this seems to have rectified the problem adam

I have also run into this problem on my S5000 - the indicator moves to the extreme right on the exposure meter and the whole screen goes white. Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem will be greatly appreciated.

The LCD screen on my Polaroid DVG-1080p Camcorder is not displaying a picture. All it display's is a white screen, how can i fix this?

Hey mkafirebird, I don't have a good answer for you other than perhaps a ribbon cable could've come loose? Polaroid is definitely not helping with this camera since they've discontinued this model(more like disowned it). My lcd was cracked, and I wanted to replace it, but there aren't any replacement parts out there according to Polaroid...

White and fuzzy screen

Hey mea411,
What you should do is have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. There is most likely something wrong with the LCD screen itself. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,

White screen

Hey kih24,
If you can access your menu system at all I would try resetting your camera to the default settings, and instructions on how to do this are on page 31 of your user manual. If you can't access your menu system you can try removing the battery and memory card for a couple of minutes and then reinsert both of them. If this doesn't work I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

White Screen Problem

Hi,
I saw your problem and thought I'd share a solution that I thought was silly but my camera was fixed in less than a minute!! hold the camera in your left hand and turn it on. With your right hand, tap the SONY LOGO below the screen a few times. At first the camera might shut off. Simply turn it back on and try again. A few firm taps with your fingers and the screen will turn back on!! I found this solution online and many people had the same wonderful results! Good luck! Frank

Digital camera

Hey,
This is a problem that occurs often in all of the Sony Cybershot cameras. To fix this problem, hit the "Sony" logo on the front of the camera with one of your knuckles. I know it sounds abusive, but it works everytime! and with every Sony camera:)
Best of luck,
Matt

My samsung digimax 503 has a white screen!

Oh my gosh this really works! Our screen went white, we hadn't dropped it or anything. The camera still worked fine but we just couldn't see what we were taking a picture of. We tried this solution and now we can see the picture through the screen perfectly. THANKS for posting this!

White Screen

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

Lcd screen

My Sony DSC-S40 camera went from working fine to having a snowy white display screen and no shown images or data without anything to cause it happening. It was in a good safe location at my PC desk no humidity or high temperatures etc etc. It still took photos and I could still connect to my PC and download and view photos but the camera LCD display screen showed nothing but white.
I have just spent an hour on the internet and located the website below with link attached and I have also posted the comment there in quotes.

I tried pushing on the screen in all corners but no change.
I then did as suggested and gave the front of the camera a firm tap on the Cyber-shot logo with my index finger knuckle and hey presto the display is working 100% AOK now.

Post subject: Sony DSC-S40 White LCD Fault Problem
Archived from groups: rec>photo>digital (more info?)

From Davy

"After 18 months of use, and 6 months beyond the warrantee period, my DSC-S40
screen showed just plain white. I contacted Sony and was quoted 115 UK
pounds ($230) fixed charge to repair it.
Before sending it off I did a quick search of the internet and was amazed to
find that this is a common fault - the flexible cable to the LCD screen has
a design problem and tends to come loose. I was even more amazed to read
that the owner can easily fix it by rapping with a knuckle on the
'cybershot' logo on the front of the camera or pressing ******* the lower
right of the screen surround.

You would think that Sony would come clean on this and own up to its design
fault. I wonder how many owners have actually sent off for repair? -
probably not many cos the repair cost is priced to be just slightly higher
than the original price of the camera - clever! Its a bit ironic really cos,
although the camera had a lesser spec than competing cameras at the price, I
chose it because it was Sony and therefore I believed would be more reliable
and better supported. Seems those days are long gone!

Anyway if anyone else is having the same problem then that's the fix - but I
don't know how long for. A longer term fix is to remove the back of the
camera and push the flexible cable plug hard into the socket of the LCD.
But I can't find how to get the back off! "
