Remote doesn't work; tried one that came with tv and one we use with satelite. I put new batteries in both remotes. Satelite does operate satelite but not TV. Worked fine this AM but not in afternoon. No power surges, thunderstorms, etc. Also unpluged TV. Is there a fuse in set that contrils remote function? Please advise.

You need to program your remote and try unplugging your satelite receiver and plugging it back up to bring the sound back. Otherwise if this does not work you have trouble in your tv set but not likely since it is new. Be sure the batteries are in correctly in your new remote.
The manufacturers remote needs no code. It will default to the Akai.
if you are using a universal remote or cable or satelite remote you will need to contact that company for the code. Once you find the code, the best practice is to write it on a piece of masking tape and stick to the inside of the battery compartment door of the remote...that way, everytime you change batteries- presto! theres your code!
There is usually a remote module mounted on the inside of the front of the tv that senses the remote signal. This controls all functions of the tv. If you are not comfortable in troubleshooting this, I would recommend a repair center.
