Hi, I have had this stereo system for 3 years and had it in storage for the last month. I've just set it back up and everything works except for the CD player. It doesn't recognise that there is any disc in the player and just skips from Disc 1 through to Disc 3 and then stops and displays the message 'No Disc'. I would be very grateful if you could share any advice in solving this.

There is nothing you can do and I doubt leaving the CDs in the unit would have made any difference with the problem you have now.
The CD player is an integrated unit with tape player, turntable etc so there are presumably no connections on the back of the unit that would allow you to connect a new CD player and run it through the unit. However, if it does have compatible connections then that is what I would do.
either your connectors need cleaning or maybe a break in the wiring. Is there on spot where both wires come together if so check there. If there is any plugs, pull them apart and clean them with contact cleaner
Chances are there is some dust on the lens of the player. You might need to go inside and clean it off with some Servisol Video 40 or other suitable lens cleaning stuff. The dust might have got disturbed when you put it into storage.
i have an older machien here its a mini hifi system fw 540c it wont play any cd's i put into it it skips tru all 3 trays and than says no disc or disc not finilised. i had it in storage for about 4 months over a winter worked fime b4 can some one tell me what could help before i trow it away (>-_-)> ty<(-_-<)
Buy A CD Lens Cleaner and put it in to the CD Player and keep retrying until the drive plays it and then follow the instructions for the CD Lens Cleaner after its finished try playing a CD if it still wont play try another disc and if it does not play that try reset the player by unplugging it for five seconds if it still wont play the CD drive has failed in the drive and you need a new stereo. Stereos dont last forever so dont be surprised if you need to buy a new one
