Intermittent hot water valve not opening

Over the past several months, I have noticed the "check water inflow" light flashing and the washer door locked at the apparent end of a cycle. Initial testing proves up that it only happens at the end of a hot water cycle; cold or warm seem to work fine. Manual only suggests to clean both hose filters. Have done so twice now; they're fine. Ordered & replaced the hot water valve; no change. Went through all the diagnostics w/ Miele tech on the phone, and it passed everything OK -- all valves opened and closed as requested. Observing the machine through a whole wash cycle this morning, it appears that sometimes the valve does not even receive a command to open at the start of a rinse cycle (or both old and new valves intermittently fail to open? -- seems unlikely to me), after which the machine times out trying to fill up, the "check water inlet" light starts flashing, and the cycle jumps to the end w/ the door locked. (That can be fixed by choosing "fine rinse", after which everything is OK.Anyone have any ideas about what to check next? Thanks in advance!

This is the same issue I am experiencing on my 9 year old front loading Novotronic W1930.

Exactly the same. I wonder if one of the controllers has failed in the same manner ?

Douglasa2,

We're having the same problem. Did you have any luck replacing the right electronic valve on the cold water input connection?

Cold Water Pressure is not an issue. I took the top metal piece off and can see the whole washer - I put my hands on the internal hoses and I can feel there is absolutely no cold water flow in the machine. My guess is the electronic valve right on the cold water input connection.

The reason the final rinse works is that that uses a different solenoid valve in order to allow the use of fabric softener in the final rinse.

The question is whether the other solenoids are getting a voltage to them at the appropriate times. Check at the start of the main wash program to see whether any of the wires to the solenoids are carrying mains voltage. If so, it should be possible to either get a replacement or switch another solenoid to do the task of the failed one.

Problem may be low water pressure. try putting in a y-piece so cold water is supplied to both valves. only effect will be that wash cycle will be a bit longer

Hi you have a faulty water valve that is allowing water to weep past. if the machine is hot and cold fill. turn off the hot water tap. the machine will still work with cold water only. if it stops the weeping through you know the hot valve is faulty if it does not the cold valve is faulty. just replace whichever is the culprit.

Kenmore HE4T Washer Leak

there are 2 possible causes.
either
inlet valve leaking - turn water off and if water fill stops, it indicates valve leaking
valve being powered when machine off. this is very unlikely but to check, disconnect washer and see if problem stops
also, if drain is plumbed into a spigot on the sink trap, every time you empty the sink, some of the water will flow into the machine. to cure this, take the drain hose as high as possible under the sink in a swan neck
