I have a Magnavox MDR575H/F7 recorder The remote is not very responsive What should I do?

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Az1620-ur31p hissing noise

It's probably the hard drive, dvd drive or a fan. Sometimes it could be the case vibrating so you can just tap the case on the side or top of the computer. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the computer is running ok.

You could remove the power cord, remove the case and go inside to tighten the fan, hard drive, and dvd drive.

I think my receiver just blew. hissing noise from all speakers, now i get no sound - but the display still works...help

unplug the receiver, Everything- speakers, input/outputs. The only cord to the device left should be the power cord.
Power up the receiver, set the tuner on a strong station. check sound quality with headphones only.
If that was ok, now pick one speaker to test all channels with. Follow the procedure above with the
speaker. check each output channel with the tuner as a source using the one speaker. Good Luck!

Dvdr tray

You have one of the following problems:
  • The device freezes and does not react anymore to the remote control commands.
  • The DVD is stuck in the tray. Sometimes the message BLOCKED appears.
  • A feature is not available in the menu without any logical reason.
  • A feature of the device does not work (for example start install).
  • There is some problem with the device you cannot solve.

Reset the DVD recorder.
  1. Unplug the mains cord from the mains wall outlet.
  2. Press the POWER/ON button on the DVD recorder itself.
  3. While keeping the POWER/ON button pressed connect the main power cord to the wall outlet again. A message IS TV ON? or a demo message will appear in the display.
  4. Start the first installation process.

Notes:
    1. The settings of the DVD recorder will return to their default settings. Install the DVD recorder as if it came out of the box.
    2. The data on the hard disc will not be affected.

Panasonic Dmr es35v VCR/dvd recorder 'Set 1' problem

My remote is not working. When I press a button, I get the following message on my unit: U12, U30, SET #, CHK REMOTE #, or RC #. What can I do to fix this? The message displayed means that the remote control and unit are not communicating and the remote needs to be programmed. To program the remote, press and hold the same number that is displaying on the unit and the [ENTER] or [OK] button for more than 2 seconds. For example, if the unit displays “SET 2”, press and hold [2] and [ENTER] or [OK] for more than 2 seconds.

Wharfdale DVDR24HD160F

Hi Barb22,

Sounds faulty to me, I'd take it back to the store and get a replacement. However, I guess you want that DVD out first? I'm not sure this will work because the units logic board is mostly likely faulty and will prevent the DVD transport from opening. Unplug the unit and press the eject button, keeping it pressed plug the unit back in. If the unit does not come on then press the power button too. If the unit starts to open release the button immediately. It's unlikely to eject, but you might get lucky.

Sorry I can't be of much further help.

Regards,

DISC WILL NOT EJECT

Don't know if this will work for you, but I unplugged the player then plugged it back in again whlie holding down the power button. The player did not power up until I released the power button and pressed it again. That did it.
