Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Do I understand correctly that your computer is still playing music that is only on your USB drive device but it does not recognize the device with a drive letter?
If you had to install a driver then uninstall it and try reinstalling it. If you did not have to install a driver or this doesn't help then shut the computer down. This means turn it off, no sleep, hibernate, or any other sort of shut down mode I mean really shut it off.
Unplug this device turn the computer back on and let it boot up completely.
Shut the computer down again, completely. Turn the computer back on and once it boots up completely try plugging your device back in and see if everything is now recognized. Does it beep when the device is plugged in the same way it did when you first plugged it in when you first got it?
If it still does not find your USB drive and it beeped differently then there's some problem with the computer seeing the device. My next attempt would be to check the USB wires to be sure they are still working, full continuity from one end to the other.
If all this is working then perhaps something may be wrong inside the device.

IF the other solution doesnt work, you can try putting it into Recovery Mode, just to unfreeze it.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button for a few seconds.
If you see Welcome to Recovery Mode, let go of the Record button and hold the power button to shut it off. Then restart it.
Best of Luck.
