The laser pickup is not reading the disc, causes! bad pladder motor, laser pickup at end of life. Only option is to replace the entire assembly which would not be cost effective to repair, far cheaper to replace.

probably your laser is weak,if you're not qualified to open pls, visit nearest sony service center to have the laser replaced.

SOURCE: No disc appears even though a disc is in it - correct side up

Either the CD player does not support the format of the CD or the reading lens insidemight be covered with dust. Use a CD lens cleaner to rectify this problem.

SOURCE: Hello, I have a Sony Mini

Since this problem occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn't solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

If you've already tried to clean the lens then with no improvement then its down to the laser having failed.

In some cases these are availble as a replacement part but aren't normally cost effective.

you have probles with a driver try to unistall the driver on the cd or dvd burner and automatic it will install the driver the pc will look for the driver on c:hdd if the porblem continue call 956 400 4141 I'm a computer technician send me you info and i will repair you computer problem.

Check its sled motor. It is the motor that helps to spin the disc inside. If disc do not spin inside, check the voltage at the terminals of this motor. If it is alright, and comes near to 5VDC, the sled motor is damaged and have to be replaced. OK.

Seems optical lens of unit is causing problem of No Disc.
