My Cleanmate 365 goes backwards for 3s when switched on and then the error light appears and it stops.
It was fully charged beforehand and almost clean. It was working, then I walked away for 5 min and when I returned it had stopped, in the open. I have a new carpet, so maybe fluff is stuck inside?

Hi, this happens when the PCB detects a blockage. Take the filter out and then try it. If it no longer goes for only 5 seconds then your filter needs washed. Wash the filter in your washing machine .
DC59 will display a blue indicator light at the base of the hand grip while the machine is taking in power. The light will go out when the machine is fully charged. DC59 will take 3.5 hours to charge fully when the charge is completely depleted, but it will take less time than this if there is still some charge remaining on the battery after use.
Please note, the machine's intelligent control software is designed to ensure the battery only takes in enough power to recharge, and to keep itself topped up. It's safe to leave the machine connected to the charger at all times when not in use - the machine is designed to be stored in this way, so it's always ready to go when you need it.
From the information you've provided, I'm not clear on whether or not you're finding your DC59 works as normal once the blue charging light goes out, or whether it's not working at all. To make sure everything is correct, please get in touch with our experts directly. We'll be happy to talk you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

Is the light flashing green when you say it's fully charged? If it's yellow or red, that means it's got a low or no charge. The only time mine stops running is when something too big gets lodged in the brushes or it catches a sock or towel in the mechanism. It also can get stopped when if goes from one level of floor to another say 2 inches higher. It might need to be dismantled and cleaned out as well.
Sorry you've had to wait so long for a reply. Perhaps you no longer need help, but here goes anyway.
Must confess I'm not certain about this, but my guess is that the automatic height adjust mechanism (let's call it the HAM for convenience) isn't working properly. The HAM works by sensing the drag of the brush roll against the carpet, and raising or lowering the front of the machine as necessary to maintain constant drag.
So first you need to check the HAM, as follows: with the handle in the locked upright position, switch on and wait for a few seconds (there may or may not be any signal from the green UP or DOWN lights). Then, still switched on, lower the handle to the normal operating position and check that the green DOWN light comes on. Wait until the DOWN light goes off and then return the handle to fully upright (switched on all the time). When fully upright the UP light should come on for a few seconds and you may be able to see the handle tilt backwards as the front of the machine rises.
If this is all working properly, we need to look elsewhere for a solution. The next thing I would look for is for a broken belt. Just turn the machine over while it's running and look to see that the brush is rotating (keeping fingers and clothing well clear, of course). Sebo belts usually last 15 years or more, but breakages are not unknown.
I realise this may not exactly solve your problem, but it should give you something to work on. If you need more help, post a reply here, saying what you've found so far, and I'll try to be more specific.
Good luck!
You have a locked wheel switch that needs to be cleared. You will need to remove the top of your roomba and find which wheel switch is clogged and clear it.
Hello. Generally, when the brushes don't turn you will find that the belt is broken. In some cases, also the brushes will stop if they are clogged up with animal hair, etc. Regards, Joe
