Question about Audiovox VE-720 7 in. TV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

LED display is not working

Everything else is operational. The system is out of warranty. Is there a simple solution that I can fix myself? I guess the lightbulb is out, but it is my guess only. Thanks.

you want to fix this?
what is the question.?
want me to guess?
or tell you the 100s steps in diagnosis of this feature>? (shop steps)

my guess, is you have the remote engine start option.
and you press the button at it does what?
name what it does exactly. (wont even attempt to crank? over?)
btw, this system is a risky system.
and has many safety features to protect the public.
did you read the operators guide on this? yet?
lost it?
here it is for free, read the Remote start pages..
it shows, how to diagnose simple issues.
door lock failure? or not in park, or ?
there are many failures (simple) that can kill this feature dead.
for good cause.

The 3 most popular fixes for the Xbox 360

These are free fixes I found on the internet and tried myself I have rated them as well with my recommendation:

The Towel Trick:

  • Fast and easy
  • Opening console is not required - does not void warranty
  • Might make things worse
  • Usually works for 2 weeks only
  • Not recommended to use repeatedly
Recommendation - Do it only if you are not technical and afraid to open the console, use warranty if still permitted.

The Heat Gun Solution:
  • If done right works for long (longer than the towel trick)
  • Simple to do
  • Opening console is required - Void Warranty
  • Might make things worse
  • Not recommended to use repeatedly
  • Usually works for a fews weeks only
Recommendation - Its involved voiding warranty and hard to make it a permanent solution, use only if you don't have a warranty.

The Eraser Trick:

Best solution here at Fixya:

The Eraser Trick

  • If done correctly works permanently
  • Very simple to do
  • Requires only a simple eraser
  • Can used repeatedly
  • Opening console is required - Void Warranty
  • Usually does not used right and not works permanently
  • Requires some technical knowledge
Recommendation - Read comments on the thread to know what to expect and do it only if you don't have your warranty.

- These fixes are great, but from my experience there is no stable fix for this problem since the Red Ring of Death will come back even if fixed by an expert. Therefore those fixes are good as any but also void the 3 years warranty. If you do have your warranty I recommend on using it.

My disto a8 tilt sensor is not working at all, its only the tilt sensor thats not working everything else seems to be working ok. when I try to turn on the tilt sensor- error 163 with a spanner symbol...

if it is still under warranty then you are simple if you do not have it repaired under warranty
it could be a major fault but as soon as you carry out a fix the warranty is void regardless of the fault
while everything else appears to be working , there could be something else somewhere that is the actual cause of your problem

Hi Was re-threading my bobbin this evening and as I finished it, machine made a loud pop and the lightbulb blew. I assumed all else was fine and put bobbin in as normal, however the machine is not...

Without seeing it, I would say that you should take it in for service, because maybe it is a warranty issue and you do not want to void that.

SOHC-4836V stopped working. Has this message...Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Can I fix this myself?

if you have the installation disc for it you can reinstall the drivers

get the drivers from the internet and update it for your operating system...

(I'm guessing you either upgraded or clean installed a new operating system)

I was playing mlb 07 the game froze, it would not respond to any of the controls so i turned the power off. now it will not load any disc.

well, i guess you just have got your disc drive broken =/
fixing it will cost a little bit (yes, you have to buy a new BD Reader), you may find some cheap ones in eBay,then take it to an assistance centre you rely.

if you system in covered by warranty, you simple contact sony and they will fix it for you .
unfortunatelly i guess there is nothing about software to do, what u can try is restoring your system (backup savedata files before doing it !!!)

Wont load games just goes to the information setup

This is unfortunately a common problem with PS3's. There's not much you can do aside from sending it back to Sony. Hopefully it's still under warranty so they will fix it for free. If they give you trouble about not having the receipt, just be persistent and they will give in. It's the way of all customer service centers. I just sold my broken PS3 because my system was out of warranty. I guess I'll be playing everything on 360 now.

Buttons on control panel don't work

Assuming this system is out of Warranty, I would try to find a qualified electronics repair shop in your area. If its something simple your not out much. You paid a lot of money for this system and chances are its not somerthing you can fix. Your probably only going to completely trash it. Thats my two cents, Bose is not home repair friendly.

please rate.

Known issue ?

My best guess from what you have said is that you may have some speaker wiring shorting (or bad speaker) or else you have a bad output transistor or a poor solder connection in the output amp area. If it isn't the wiring/speaker problem but the other then you will most likely need to see a repair guy to get it fixed. Hope this helps.
