When trying to REC. with the Palmcorder PV-DV203 it just records for a few sec. then stops , makes a sound like it`s trying to rewind or somthing, then the red power light on the cam fashes like it`s giving out a code, and i can`t do anything with it after that. if i turn it OFF / ON after that, I can REC. another few sec. and were back where we were, samething happens. OOOOooo and i`ve only used the D*&%? thing maybe 12 times, has been sitting for the last year untill today, like new. please help.
Thanks David
I have the same problem with mine and trying to figure what is the problem. Like you I've used it minimal times and it sat for a while and now I can't record anything. I hope some knows how to fix it without it costing an arm and a leg.
Hi,
Had the same problem yesterday with rewind, play, and record. Pushed inward on the cassette compartment cover. The problem no longer exists. I do not know if the door was the problem, but it worked for me. Good luck.

A nice easy one. Eject your tape and look for the record lock on the cassette. It's usually a small plastic red tab which you slide to one side. The record will then work.
It's put there to stop you mistakingly record over the top of something you want to keep. Just make sure it's nor something you want to keep before recording over it :-)
had the same problem, it seems to do fine without a tape in it :so I took the tape in and out a few times and I guess the alighnment was better so it works for Now..So Give it a try
You shouldn't. The PV-DV203 means it is one of Panasonic's MiniDV, digital cancorders. You should only need the cable(s) supplied with the camera, and either a FireWire or USB port available on your computer. Windows Movie Maker should be able to download the video and allow you to edit it.

hai,
If you are service engineer you can do this problem, Please, check the cassette IN sensing Switch. The place of the Switch is right side of the mechanism, Clean S/w with IPA solution & check. It will be ok or other wise you have replace s/w or mechanism.
