We have a Maytag ceramic top (model MES5770AAA).
Today we had a particularly bad power outage. The electricity flickered on and off many times before dying out. Before the power went out completely, the oven display dimly showed the clock and kept turning the lock mode on and off.
Once the power was restored about 6 hours later, we reset all GFI outlets and all circuit breakers. However, the oven clock did not display again, and nothing happens when any of the buttons are pressed. The four burners and the oven light work fine. The display is just dead, so the oven is useless. Everything else in the house is fine.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Re: oven display won't work
Rmedrano, Try pressing and holding the stop-time and cancel pads together for 5 seconds, see if it comes back to life. If not, try the cancel and clock keypads together for 3 seconds. First is the control lock-out funtion and the second is the display blank mode. If these fail to work, you are going to have to test for power at the board. The clock (ERC) has a 3 year warranty incase you have to call for service. Catriver.post back.

It is simple . Before the process make sure the the power is off .. There screws on the back after removing them you can lift the top n easily remove the none working ones . You can buy the spear ones online or local shop . I have done it myself or search YouTube with model number youse come a cross with repair option . Good luck .
Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. After looking at the wiring diagram for this unit it looks like the only thing that can be happening is the relay on the control/clock is fused closed thus energizing the heating element. Bad thing is this part is about $360.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
The electronic ignition system (a ceramic plate that glows red) lets some power pass through to allow the gas to flwo when it has reached lighting temperature. The ceramic lighter needs replacing. Either that or the general electronic in the stove are shot.
You said, you went to set the timer while baking a pizza and I got a "set or en" on
the display of my Maytag Gemini Ceramic Top electric oven. How old is the range? And the model number?
Threat it like an error code. This can reset the system. Turn the breaker off to cut the power for 5 minutes. Then restart the breaker and try the range. It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange! Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious. Or they are sometimes just a glitch.
If this does not remedy the problem, then the switch itself is bad. Let me know how it works out. Huuum, Please remember to leave a rating
You unit is stuck in the "Display Model Mode". Hold the stop/clear button for at lest five seconds in insure the interlock activates. If it does not activate then the electronic range control (erc) is not functioning. Replace the erc (Clock/Display.)
