Err message on display.

Minolta maxxum 70 35mm. Camera will turn on and take a picture but the second the shutter closes... an ERR message comes on the display and the only way to clear it is turning off and back on. It does it every time you try and take a picture.

SOURCE: blank film

I had the same problem. I think I finally figured it out. My problem was that the Shutter was in lock mode. In the manual book there is a section called "Shutter Lock." How to get it unlocked: While pressing the drive mode button (1), turn the camer on with the function dial (2); the data panel displays the status of the shutter lock. If it says "lock", you will need to do this process again to get it unlocked.

To find out where the buttons are, you will need to look in your manual -- page 53.

Hope this corrects your problem.

SOURCE: Bad Minolta Maxxum lens?

Oddly enough, the camera and lens are working just fine now - or at least they appear to be. I'll shoot some more when I have good lighting and 1-hour them tomorrow for the results.
