No cue preview in my headphones

I use Ableton Live 6.0.10 and am a Mac user with Leopard. I use a Tascam US-144, driver version 1.11, firmware version 1.12, and USB 2.0. My only issue with the Tascam is I cannot preview songs with my headphones. In Ableton, I have my master output routed to channels 1/2 and cue output to 3/4. I can hear the master output in my headphones but not the cue. I have tried routing my master to 3/4 and cue to 1/2, but same problem. How can this problem be solved? Can it? There is nothing in the Tascam control panel which allows me to route where the cue output goes.

SOURCE: what cables for yamaha keyboard psr295 to connect with tascam 144

There are different options depending on what you want to achieve. If you want to send only MIDI data to your PC (for example, to run a VST instrument), then you can use a standard MIDI cable to connect the "out" on your keyboard to the "in" on your Tascam. You should also be able to use the Yamaha USB cable to connect directly to your computer, which would then bypass the Tascam (still giving you the same outcome, but without the need to buy any extra cables.
However, if you want to send the audio data (i.e. the actual sound) of the keyboard to your PC, you would simply use a standard guitar lead from the line out of the keyboard into the line in (both, if your keyboard has stereo outs) of your Tascam. This will eliminate any need for VST instruments, as you will be recording the audio signal directly.

Mac drivers

Hello there. a quick google dive pulled up thefollowing page on TASCAM's website

http://tascam.com/product/us-144/downloads/

The second catergory listed would be drivers for MacOS. From that list, the 2.00 driver, which would be the second in the list, would be the most updated driver.

I hope this helps.

TASCAM US 144 and Mac incompatible???

A lot of the Audio drivers or Tascam and m-audio devices really only work for windows 32 bit reason i tried installing the same stuff for windows 64bit won't work in less u have vista 64bit But regular windows 32 bit works with every program out there. The mac if it did work it should pick up a signal if it worked properly but it sounds like the mac don't read it even with drivers .

This also could be a problem with your device if you had the same problem with it last time. replace it with a new one and try the install again on your computer and see if it works after that.

Crashing every minute

I have found that the tascam 144 freezes the system evan when using other software than Live. It looks up with Cubase and other stuff evan Windows media player running sound thru the tascam. The problem is erratic and acts like an IRQ conflict and I still believe Tascam has fallen real sort of the mark by abandoning the customers. They are without a dought responsible for this problem and should step up and FIX it NOW. We are many having problems it is no fluke and I for one am discusseded with the total lack of support for what they have released as a viable and workable unit. LIES just to sell their stuff. I feel that Tascam's support should be in on this forum and start to work out the diffinative answere.

Anyone want to buy a cheap Tascam US 144 that won't do what you want. I achive move by plugging into the MIC or Line in on my system sound card than I get from the great Tascam device I bought in good faith and can't use.

THANKS FOR NOTHING TASCAM.

Tascam us 144 sync problems with cubase le

Hey lea,

i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?

i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.
