Whirlpool "stove eyes" are another name for the burners. More specifically ... navigating them. For gas stoves, you do not need to remove the eyes to clean them.
Almost certainly the switch, not the element, Had the same problem on a different stove - went to 10 no matter what the knob was set to.
Here is a parts list, you should be able to get the part from a local appliance part seller. I used ReliableParts in my town.
you have no heat at all? K, pull stove out and check how many volts you have should be 240. Your elements work off 240 if you only have 120 coming to stove the lights will work jujst not your heat. You should have a double pole 40amp breaker If you only have 120 change the breaker
This could be caused by the eye control switch, the eye itself is bad,or the electrical block where the eye itself plugs in.These can be checked with a volt/ohm meter. Also a wire could have burnt under the stove top.Hope this helps. Gregg
Is it the eye itself or the receptacle? solution: yank out the questionable eye and put another from the stove in that one. swap em around and determine if the eye is bad or the receptacle. The receptacle are around 10 bucks. part number 330031
