My hp w2207h goes to sleep

New hp w2207h goes to sleep as soon as we turn it on if you disconect the cord to it check video cable

  • Anonymous Apr 29, 2009

if the monitor is turned off and on again, it flashes and says "check video cable" it never fully re-established the signal from the Mac G5 DVI

Same issue occurs if trying to use a DVI switch.

Hi, I have the same problem, it "goes to sleep as soon as I turn it on", plus OSD lock out keeps flashing. I noticed this happened when I was trying to install Windows Vista.

I have a hp w2207h monitor. When I turn on my computer the monitor shows "Monitor going to sleep". everytime I turn it on. What can I do?

Wake it up. No, seriously. What you see is most likely the video signal not getting from the video card to the monitor. When that happens, the monitor takes a nap. Problem could be a loose cable, sleep setting on the computer, or bad video card. Check each of these in the order I listed, as they are easy to hard.

There is a slim chance that the monitor indeed has a problem. Rule out the other possible issues before jumping to that conclusion. If you ultimately believe it to be the monitor, try to borrow someone else's monitor to see how that one reacts.

Hello: Just recently, the 2159m HP monitor goes to sleep in the middle of an activity. This happened on two desktops and different settings. Repalced the video card, adjusted settings, replsced DVI...

Check the cord and connections for the monitor; this has one wire that must have voltage on it or the monitor goes to sleep, and a broken wire or loose connection will fool it into thinking you are powering down. If this doesn't work try going into power options and setting monitor to never power down.

At start up my monitor goes to sleep and stays. hooked up another monitor and it did the same thing. hp pavilion a6600f PC and hp w2207h monitor

the most likely issue is the computer's graphics card. to avoid extra problems, try replacing it with the same model graphics card.

As soon as i turn on my computer my monitor says no input signal and then goes to sleep i have an hp

either your video card has stopped working or your cable to your monitor or the monitor is bad. Try to hook another monitor up to it see if it turns off if it doesn't then the video card needs to be replaced. If it does its the monitor.

As soon as i turn on my computer the monitor goes into sleep mode

try another cable I have tis problem on mine & I have to do them up solid, also check for bent pins in the cable & bend the back carefully & unplugged. If not you may need to set up the computer to output, try another monitor to rule that out.

My hp w2207h goes to sleep

Sounds like your video card is failing. If the video is internal to the motherboard, get a video card and add it to the motherboard if there is an open video slot available
