S5i won't turn on in Capture mode

When I press the power switch, the camera gives FOUR rapid beeps and does not turn on. If I press Playback at the same time, it will turn on and I can view the card. But as soon as I press Playback again to try and enter Capture mode, it turns off. The camera has not suffered damage and the battery is full. Any suggestions?

I also had this same problem. It wouldn't turn on so I figured I had nothing to lose by taking it apart. It is very difficult to get to the battery, and once i found it, I managed to remove the battery. I could not manage to soder on a new battery, so now there is no button cell battery in the camera. It now works fine, but every time I change the battery I have to reset the date and time. It beats buying a new camera though.

Hi Aunty Edna. I had exactly the same problem with my S5I 4 weeks ago. Went out and bought another camera then decided had nothing to lose by doing heart segury on S5I. Found it has a watch battery soldered to board under memmory card holder which was flat. I replaced that with a similar battery and it fixed the problem. Its not an easy job but if you know someone good with there hands it would take about an hour.Hope this helps. Regards Andy

How do i move the pictures from the camera memory to the sd card

While in Playback mode, press the MENU button. Use the cursor keys to select "Copy image & sound" and press cursor-right.
Full instructions are in the "Copying Files" section of the manual (page 116 in my copy) If you need a copy, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

When you turn on the camera, it's in Photo Capture mode. Press the MODE button twice to enter the Playback mode. You can press LEFT/RIGHT to scroll through the images. Pressing T will zoom in, while W will zoom out.

It's all on page 29 of the manual.

How you can eliminate the sign on E:61:00 the camera sony DSC T-5 series Cybershot

Hello and Welcome

The symptoms of this error is
  • After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  • Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  • Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  • Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.
To solve this
Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.
If that doesnt fix it, try this:
Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed

I took pictures, and the camera instead of recording them to the chip, recorded them to the camera memory. I don't have special cord from the camera port to USB to retrieve the picture to the computer....

Go into playback mode. In the camera menu is an entry for copy image. It gives you the option to copy the contents of the internal memory to a memory card.

How do i remove the green mode from my pentax e40

If you press the green button again it cancels green mode.

If you want to select a different mode press the down arrow on the four way controller when you are in capture mode.
That has icons for different modes like landscape or program mode.
Move to the icon you want by using the 4 way controller then press ok.

The button with a triangle on it that is above the 4 way controller switches between playback and capture modes.

Cannot find batteries that work. I have replaced the batteries with different brands and it still wont turn on. What is the problem.... Its not reliable.

It is possible that there is a small amount of corrosion on the contacts in the camera. Use the eraser end of a common pencil to clean these contacts. Also, make sure you are using the correct batteries. It shows here that you have the polaroid i830. this camera uses two AA batteries: Open the battery door, located on the underside of the camera (use your thumb to slide the door outwards). Install the two AA batteries into the battery bay. Install the SD card into the slot located next to the battery bay. Close the battery door.
  1. Step2Press the power button located on top of the camera. Locate the "Playback" button on the rear of the camera, under the "W" button; this button switches the camera between "Capture" and "Playback" modes. Set the camera to "Capture" mode.
  2. Step3Press the button on the bottom right of the rear of the camera to open the mode selection window. Use the navigation buttons to select "Still Image" mode. Press the button labeled "Set Disp" to confirm your selection.

I had the same problem - try this. Switch to playback mode by hitting the play button. In playback mode try the menu button (It worked for me). In the settings scroll down to the reset option and reset all camera settings.

Hope this works for you
