51MP392H/17 Blue convergence wont move not IC chip
OK, I got a good one for you techies...
so I replaced the ICconvergence chips and my 12 resistors, theapparently my 6.8 ohmresistors were not the right type "not metalfilm?" or my solder job wasnot up to par, either way 2 burned up. Ireplace then and the ICs withall new chip this time the quality ones.the TV run stable the redadjusts fine
HOWEVER,
1. The Blue convergence with notmove up and down just left right.I've tripled checke the sodder evenredone them and checked the ohmsthey are good...
What else controls the the "Blue convergence up and down?" Iread the part manual from on line but cant decide if those 3 prongTransistors effect the convergence control and if so which one?
2.the Green "non movable fixed color" has a warp/bend top centerscreenthe top two center mulit point convergence points warp left. seebelowcrued sketch, also most of the center multi points red/blue areright onBUT the outer ring red/blue + are pulled in away from green IGNORE THE DOTS, I needed them to hold the space to keep the lines from moving to the edg of screen in drawing

Hello, below in my post is a link to the Manual library. there are detailed instructions on how to adjust the color. it takes time and some steps are difficult but using two people you should have no problem just print them out and go step by step... also I suggest doing it at night with low lights or off, and let the TV warm up for 20 mins. Good luck, below is my general post with lots of info
51MP392H/17 Actually I have this TV and you need 2 Convergence IC's STK392-120's (120's and 150's will work) of course order 2 of the same type I'm using replacement 150's they allow for a little higher heat and were cheaper ALSO you need to replace the 12 resistors with 6.8 ohm metal film resistors, make sure they are metal film! don’t skimp out here I did and then they blew and fried my IC's and I had to replace everything again!
What you need: (2) STK392-120 OR STK392-150 IC chips (12) 6.8 Ohm Metal Film resistors set of star screw drivers 15 watt pencil solder pencil, DO NOT use a high watt iron you will fry the surface mounted item. good leaded solder, and flux
BTW if you don’t plan on trying this and are going to throw out the TV, I still need a IC convergence board for a 51MP392H/17 TV I'm fixing, I'm willing to pay S/H and buy your IC board that’s not been tampered with. [email protected]
Need more info, does it click on and off, make any noises, was the picture going blurry, did you just move it, was in built into a wall where it wouldn't get air to cool???
Here is what I know about the 51mp392h this is a general post below I used for some other peoples fixes without more info on yours I suggest reading thru the below and links and add more info to your post so we can trouble shoot it.

YIKES, I dont know about Coolant changes but I'll post my general post about the 51MP392H/17
it has links to the SERVICE MANUALS and info to other sites that might help...
GOOD luck

sounds like Convergence issue.... I have some pictures of the bowing picture TV on the link below...
I'll post you my general message which is for a similar Philips Magnavox 51 inch TV, you'll need to check the manual verify the correct IC convergence chips and resistors, the manual link is below as well... usally the IC's are STK392-120's or 150's and the resistors are 6.8 ohm 12 of then...
anyway read the general post below it will get you headed in the right direction.

Sounds like your Convergence chips failed, were your red/blue/green colors slowly seperating or was the picture starting to curve on the top or bottom or both? if so see below general post. Also what model # is your TV and what size? 51MP392H/17 Actually I have this TV and you need 2 Convergence IC's STK392-120's (120's and 150's will work) of course order 2 of the same type I'm using replacement 150's they allow for a little higher heat and were cheaper ALSO you need to replace the 12 resistors with 6.8 ohm metal film resistors, make sure they are metal film! don’t skimp out here I did and then they blew and fried my IC's and I had to replace everything again!

here is my general post for the 51 inch you'll have to look at the link for the manual and check to see if you have the STK392-120 chips or somthing bigger in the 60"
