DAMN PHONE When i reset and do a service update on the phone it is fine, If i turn the phone off or remove the battery, or if i install anything on the phone it starts to play up. things that happen are. 1. The green flashing led stays on constantly instead of flashing. 2. It will not register my car hands free kit hca-20, it just shows that it is charging when connected. 3. It starts to do silly things like auto answer calls, change ringtones by itself. Shall i go on or not?. Please can somebody help, Has anybody seen this problem before. The phone has been checked by a SONY dealer and i have been told that there is nothing wrong with it. If that is the case then what the hell is going on? Please somebody.....

  • How or who can do this Phone service?
    Is it something that i can do myself or is it something that has to be done by Sony Ericsson.
    I have already sent it to Sony Ericsson here in Cyprus they said that they rebooted and updated all. they also lost all my information that i had on the phone even though they said that they would backup everything for me they didnt.

  • Ok who can do this Full reflash? can it be done by me or does it have to go to Sony Ericsson.
    They have already done full reboot BLA BLA BLA and told me after loosing all my info that there was nothing wrong with the phone.
    Please can you give me some more info. THANK YOU.

The phone's "software" is composed of phone flash version, flex and SEEM's. A flash is a user interface with the phone (what you see on the display, controls, graphics etc), the flex (firmware) is related to the phone's hardware functions and the SEEM's are hexazecimal tables that relate the flash to the flex sistem. From what you say, I think the SEEM's are written incorect, thus resulting in incompatibilities with the flex version and stupid errors that occur as the flash attemts to intruct the flex to do something but it understand other things. A way to solve this is a full reflash, this can be done only in a phone service.

    You can't do that, only a phone service can. I don't know a good phone service to check you flash,flex and SEEM's because I live in Romania. Here it isn't possible to send it elsewhere so we relly on our services, most of them do that. However in your location I don't know where to send the phone. It would be very hard and some sort dangerous for you to try this in person.

Fix my Huawei Ascend Y530, keeps showing green alien and saying check sd pkg is exist ... installing system update .

try performing a factory reset (you will lose everything on the phone if you proceed).

turn off phone then take out battery 2 seconds
put battery back on and:
then press and hold volume up+power button to enter recovery mode.
from recovery choose "factory/data reset" (of anything relating to wiping phone, since this can sometimes differ from phones)

reboot the phone and let me know what happens next

My nokia 2600 classic is not turning on .just light appears then damn again after five or three minutes again i can't try to turn it on. to reset i can't turn it on Damn ****** help me .......:-(

Possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

I hav SE w705.when ever i download any theme the menu icons dont change so im lukin for a theme that will change my menu icon .pls help

You should need to unlock your phone and install some specific software to modify your phonev4ndre_5.jpg there is some programs and special firmwares to reflash your cell phone, but the procedure is very dangerous, do it at your own risk...

1. Download the SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) program from the main SE page. (Navigate to your phone model and download "Update Service" program at the download section.

2. After downloading the SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service. I will write only SEUS in the rows below) you need to make your computer ready for the update process by installing USB flash drivers for your phone. These USB drivers are not the sandard ones and it's installation is a bit different comparing to the standard ones. So to install USB flash drivers (I hope you're using Windows XP) the procedure is the folowing:
- Turn off the phone;
- Remove the battery;
- Remove the Sim card;
- Place the battery in the phone again;
- While your phone is turned off connect it to your computer via the USB cable holding the C button on the phone pressed down all the time. (Tips: "Do not release the C button until you're prompted to do it" , "REMOVE the SIM card from the phone before starting the update process" , " Keep your phone turned off when connecting it to the computer holding the C button pressed down")
- Your computer will recognize the phone now as new hardware (USB Flash Device) and then you will need to install the USB Flash Drivers for your phone. Follow the Windows new hardware wizard. It will prompt you to insert the CD for your new hardware. The flash USB drivers are in the PC Suite CD you got when you bought the phone.
- After the Drivers setup is finished successfully, plug out the phone from the cable and restart your computer. Restarting is recommended, so do not try to start the update procedure without restart.

3. The next thing you have to do is to install the SEUS program you downloaded from the main SE website (the link above). It's setup is easy and it will install in a couple of minutes. After SEUS program is installed, restart the computer again.

4. Now you can start the update process for your phone. If everything is OK it should be like this:
- First I would like to recommend you to not start the update process if you have very slow or unstable internet connection, because the new software for the phone is downloded directly from the Internet and it does not have to be interrupted with anything;
- Quit your all running programs (This is recommended if you have antivirus or firewall software which blocks the network activity of untrusted applications. If you have one like this, give the SEUS program unlimited permision to access the web anytime it needs. Or the best, turn off that software.);
- Start the SEUS program you installed;
- Then you need to follow the instructions from the wizard;
- When asked, turn off the phone;
- Remove the SIM card'
- Connect it to the computer holding the C button (Tip: Release the C button only when you are prompted to do that. Releasing the C button earlier than it need to be will interrupt the update process so you can kill your phone. Some computers won't prompt for release the C button so you can release it when the updating procedure is started.);
- Then you will see an animated picture of some gray phone connected to computer via the USB cable. In this step you can release the C button and wait while the wizard is downloading the new software for your phone and installing it. You can see the status of the flashing procedure in the screen on that gray phone on the picture. Its display will start to fill with green from the bottom to the top of the screen;
- When done the updating procedure, click the update process you will be prompted to plug out your phone from the computer and close the wizard. With that, the update procedure is successfully completed;

5. Now you'll need to see the success of your work by Turning the phone on, but when you finish the update procedure do not remove the battery to insert the SIM card. Try to turn the phone on when you plug it off the computer. Keep the power on button pressed down for some time. It won't turn on fast as usual. If it does not turn on, remove the battery then. Insert the SIM card. Let the battery out for 2-3 minutes and try turning it on again. If the update procedure is made as it needs to be, the phone will surely turn on (but not fast as usual, but it is only for the first time.).

Good Luck. smile.gif

My Sony P1i just went dead one day. it won't power up. Battery is fine. when u plug power the light glows and steady. repair shop says software needs reload, is there i can do myself, itried firmware...

My P1i appears completly dead after running Update Service. I've tried removing the battery, fully charging the battery etc. When i run Update Service again it just says my phone is up-to-date.
any suggestions?
Update only says "No new software is available for your phone. Your phone already has the latest available software installed."

Then gives the option to Exit only

When i turn on the phone it's fine , but about 3mins it sudden turn off.

i would call nokia and have them do a hard reset to the phone to restore all settings back to factory .. but you will loose anything saved to the phone .. or you can try removing the battery while the phone is on .. thats a soft reset and you will not loose anything that way ..

Uniden phone saying "check tel line" and is not registering. have t-mobile hotspot at home service and router is fine.

check the line wire if it connected well otherwise try to reset ur phone by removing the battery for 5 min. and install it back again and turn it on

Phone light are on, but black screen :S

To update the SW in the phone you need a DCU-65 USB-cable and a pc with internet access to connect it to. Download the SonyEricsson Update Service program and install it. Remove the battery from the phone, press and hold the "C" key on the phone while inserting the battery (do NOT let go the C-key), connect the cable to the phone and the PC and wait until the pc har identified the phone. Now you can let go the C-key and proceed with the upgrade.

If this does not work in any way the phone is busted and needs to be repaired by a brand-workshop, but it will probably cost more than a new phone....

P1i display problem...

Solution Description:

  1. Back up your data using the Sony Ericsson PC suite, then perform Update Service as described below
  2. Log on to:
  3. Download and install Update Service on your computer to keep the software in your phone up-to-date and ensure optimum performance from your phone.
  4. When the download is complete, an Update Service shortcut will be created on your desktop.
  5. While still connected to the Internet, click the ‘Update Service’ shortcut icon on your desktop
  6. Sony Ericsson window will pop up and downloading will begin. Allow the downloading to run complete to 100%
  7. Another Sony Ericsson window showing different countries’ languages will pop up, select your preferred language.
  8. Sony Ericsson ‘Welcome to Update Service’ window will pop up, showing ‘Exit’ on the left-hand side and ‘Start’ on the right-hand side.
  9. Click the ‘Start’ icon and select ‘Agree’ on the ‘Term of Use’ page that pops up
  10. Select your phone type and click on ‘Continue’
  11. Highlight your specific phone type and select ‘Continue’
  12. Follow the instructions as shown below:
- Make sure your phone is fully charged
- Connect the USB cable to a USB port on your computer
- Turn off your phone
- Remove and reinsert the battery
- Press and hold the ‘C’ button down while plugging the USB cable to the computer
- Continue to hold the ‘C’ button down until the instruction number ‘7’ on the Update Service comes up (i.e. Instructing you to ‘Release the ‘C’ button)
  1. Allow the update to run to the end
  2. When the system informs you that the latest update has already been installed on your system, click on ‘Continue Anyway’
  3. Click ‘Yes’ to all subsequent questions
  4. Allow the update to fully run to the end
  5. When update is complete, disconnect the USB from the computer and phone
  6. Remove and reinsert the phone battery
  7. Power on your Sony Ericsson P1i phone
  8. Congratulation!!!

NB: since the phone is not powering on, you may not be able to know whether the battery is fully charged. Hence, you will need to use a Sony Ericsson Deskstand. Connect the Battery Charger to its slot on the Deskstand and the USB cable to its slot simultaneously. This enables the battery to charge while the update is also running.

If it's a signal strength problem, it's more likely to be your Network Service Provider than your phone. However your internal aerial might be faulty.
You could try a restore to factory settings, but I don't think it will change anything.
Updating the Firmware might help.

You need to download the latest Nokia PC Suite to do an update on your phone.
Before updating software you should check that there’s a newer version of software available.

When updating software on Mobs, be sure to:
And obviously don’t unplug the phone from the PC.
Be patient, you may have to do a restart or two on your mob afterwards. Even remove the battery to get it going again (not recommended). But give it plenty of time.
It is also wise not to use your PC while updating software, just in case the PC freezes.
If the PC freezes during an update, you’re up the creek without a paddle...

I did an update on a Sony Eric 810i it took nearly two hours.
More... Your phone turns itself on and off, sometimes more than once while updating software, you should leave it well alone during the update.
