SOURCE: Sandisk sansa e200

I had this same problem on my sansa and tryed the previous solution with no luck. Out of frustration i email the sansa technical support. Try these steps to format the player: -Turn on the player and access MENU > SETTINGS > USB > MSC - Once the player is set to MSC mode, reconnect it to the computer and open the My Computer window. - Once you see the Sansa icon in the My Computer window, right-click it and choose FORMAT - In the Format window, choose FAT 32 and make sure that Quick Format is NOT selected, then choose START -Once the format has completed, disconnect the player from the computer to allow it to refresh. If you plan on using Windows Media Player to transfer files, return to the USB menu and set the player to MTP mode. Otherwise, leave the player in MSC mode and you can now resume transferring files. Formatting your player will deleate all files but you can putt them back on!!! Best of luck!

SOURCE: Sansa e200 mp3 player not starting

You can enter recovery mode by first:
Making sure the player is off
Push the hold switch towards the headphone jack so you see orange
Press and hold record on the left of the player
With record still being held down, plug into the computer
Once you see welcome to recovery mode on the screen of the player, let go of record
At this point you can reload the manual firmware. You will probably need to contact sandisk so they can give you the link to the file.

Will not recharge

Have you tried plugging this into a USB2.0 port ? sometimes, some of the usb ports dont not have enough power to charge some players.

Which is which is why, sometimes, (seen very often with external hard drivers) there are two usb plugs on the computer side which needs to be connected.

1) Try another USB port, or another computer (especially is this is a laptop, some of the ports are under powered, to save power)

2) if you have an AC Adaptor to charge this, try it with that

My Sansa e260 Mp3 player isn't recognised by Windows and will not show up as connected.

e200 is the generic name for the entire e-series including the e250, e260, and e280. The only difference between the models is the amount of internal memory. The e200 driver is used for all models in the series, and the e200 manual likewise covers the series.

USB 2GB Sansa express i pod with micro sd

If you are using an USB extension or an USB external hub, get rid of it.

Try plugging the MP3 to a different USB port.

Try unplugging AC charger, and removing laptop batter for ten minutes, sometimes this can fix problems caused by accumulation of electrostatic charges on USB controller.

If that does not solve the problem, test a different USB device on the same laptop, and test the MP3 on a different computer. Either one may be faulty.

If the problem is the laptop you may fix it by removing and reinstalling USB root hub on hardware devices in Control Panel.

My computer doesn't recognize my Sansa E200

Make sure player's usb menu is set to MSC, so computer will recognize it. Not sure why, but sometimes it helps to try another usb port on the computer. Good luck.
