Re: my source button will close my face plate
Hi, can't find man for m8815x, but got for m8805x.
First I'll gamble that your close button is within 3/4 of an inch of the voldn, it's possible that when you press the close button you're also making
the voldn button. could be due to impact
Check that the close and voldn buttons 'feel' right.
If the unit is very new, it could be a manufacturing fault. Bit of cruft inside, or a bad silkscreen on buttons, causing a bridge in the button matrix.
Try rolling your finger left-right or up-down over the close button to see if it doesn't do the voldn every time.

THE FACEPLATE HAS LIKE SOME PINS WHERE IT MAKES CONTACT THE FACE PLATE WITH THE STEREO BODY WITH A COTTON AND SOME ALCOHOL CLEAN THE CONECTOR THE ONES THAT ARE IN THE STEREO BODY AND THE FACE PLATE BUT WHEN YOU MAKE IT MAKE SURE THE CAR OR FACE ITS TURN OFF
sounds like a bad connection on the faceplate however most stereo decks have two power sources one controls the main power and the second is a remote power source used for saving information while the car is off ex. Time and radio presets
Same problem as yours with my deck. Bought the deck a month ago, turned car on in the morning face plate does not move down, music plays everything ok but can not access the cd or move the plate regadless button pushing. Have you tried the reset button? Hold it for 3 seconds ( ball point pen to press the button above power button) U will lose the presets but Oh weel. I am going to remove power completey from the unit later on today, and if it still has issues I am returning it for a replacement ( Bought it form Best Buy) L8R
I have the same problem, and all my problem was is that one of the wheels were out of place. You can see these white gears at the bottom left and right. Just stick something in there and push it back in place. It should just snap back in.
all radios like your has two power inlets one is battery and the other is Acc or Ing. The battery line keeps power in the radio after you turn off your car both lines must work for the radio to turn on it sounds like a resister burn out thats why your face plate was warm.
