Hi, can't find man for m8815x, but got for m8805x. First I'll gamble that your close button is within 3/4 of an inch of the voldn, it's possible that when you press the close button you're also making the voldn button. could be due to impact Check that the close and voldn buttons 'feel' right. If the unit is very new, it could be a manufacturing fault. Bit of cruft inside, or a bad silkscreen on buttons, causing a bridge in the button matrix. Try rolling your finger left-right or up-down over the close button to see if it doesn't do the voldn every time.

On my stereo the light lights up in the back and turn on when the car is on but when I put the face plate on the face plate doesn't work.

sounds like a bad connection on the faceplate however most stereo decks have two power sources one controls the main power and the second is a remote power source used for saving information while the car is off ex. Time and radio presets

hope this helps

Hi Folks, I have an Aiwa CDC x204 car stereo that seems to be stuck in demo mode. I replaced the battery, so my guess is that this is the default. Upon reading the instructions, it indicates to...

This is what worked for me:
  1. Power the radio off (hold the power button in top left corner in for several seconds)
  2. Remove face plate
  3. Hold in reset 10 seconds
  4. Press push-menu dial/button 3 or 4 times
  5. Insert cd and hit source to switch to tuner before cd starts
Not all of these steps may be necessary.
I suspect having the power off before the reset button was the important part.

I have a dual xdmr7700 stereo and lost the manual need to get the face plate off

Same problem as yours with my deck. Bought the deck a month ago, turned car on in the morning face plate does not move down, music plays everything ok but can not access the cd or move the plate regadless button pushing.
Have you tried the reset button? Hold it for 3 seconds ( ball point pen to press the button above power button) U will lose the presets but Oh weel.
I am going to remove power completey from the unit later on today, and if it still has issues I am returning it for a replacement ( Bought it form Best Buy)

Flip Down faceplate is stuck.

I have the same problem, and all my problem was is that one of the wheels were out of place. You can see these white gears at the bottom left and right. Just stick something in there and push it back in place. It should just snap back in.
