Quick solution: force a manual rewind.
1. Remove film
2. Close camera back.
3. With the power turned on, press the two rewind buttons together. They are marked in red.
4. The camera will make a rewind sound and will stop after about 2 seconds.
5. DO NOT fire the shutter yet.
6. Put the mode on Manual and select a fast shutter speed like 1/90 sec. Any aperture will do.
7. Load the film correctly as given in the user's manual.
8. As you close the camera back, the film will prewind to the end of roll. At the end of the roll pre-wind the LCD will show you the total number of frames available.
9. Select any shooting mode.
10. Go on and take pictures.

Hope this helps

Film not going through camera

E indicates empty.

try resetting the camera. Pus both the rewind buttons (plus/minus button by release button and bracket button on side of mirror box). Push them at the same time. Let the camera run until it stops (just a few seconds). This resets the camera. Then try loading the film again. Make sure the leading edge of the film isn't bent and is the edge is within the red rectangle under the take up spool. It should then load the film. Note: the N75 pulls all the film out of the cassette and then rewinds it back I one shot at a time until you reach '0'.

The new roll of film winds into the right spool upon closing back cover // brand new batteries displays 1/2 and ERR appears on led panel

Is the ERR blinking, and is there an additional blinking E on the display? If so, the film is not loaded properly.
The film is supposed to advance all the way to the take-up spool upon loading. The camera then "rewinds" one frame at a time as you take pictures. This way the camera knows exactly how many shots are left on the roll. Also, if the back is accidentally opened, the shots already taken are already in the can and won't be ruined.
If you need a manual, you may download a copy here.
Try cleaning the battery contacts and see whether the battery reads full with no film in the camera.
If problems persists, feel free to reply to this post and give any additional details.

I am trying to load a film into my camera but on the top screen it says "ERR" and I am unable to load my film

"ERR" is usally a camera malfuntion. Remove and replace the batteries while camera is on. If the camera has a hardware reset button, give that a try. If nothing works, then axam by7 an authorized Nikon Service Center is advised.

Mirror isn't staying down

That camera is going to have to be sent to a repair facility for repair. It has a major problem with the shutter or mirror box mechanism.

Hi: I have a nikon n75 I have film in the camera but looking for the rewind button. Not able to locate my manual. First time doing this.

There is no rewind. When the camera loads the film, it pulls it out all the way. Each time it takes a shot, it rewinds the frame back into the can. At the end of the roll the leader is wound back into the can. As soon as you hear the motor stop, you can just open it and take out the film.

Can't load the film

Turn the camera on. Open the back. Insert film, pull it across to the red mark. Close the back.

Camera should load automatically.

You can get the manual at http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

Nikon N75 - error message, nothing working.

You have to reset the rewind counter by pushing the two buttons simultaneously - one on the side of the lens mount, the other by the release button - red, cassette symbols. This tells the camera there's no film in it.

N75/ fEE

The camera requires you to set your lens aperture at the minimum setting, usually orange coloured. I.E. f22 f32. Nikons control the aperture through the camera, not setting the ring manually like old style SLR's

Nikon n75 problem loading film

I have (had) the same problem. I came onto this site to find out what I can do to fix it. It didn't help. I got pissed and almost threw the camera away. So I decided to get a little rough with the camera, (i normally wouldn't do this but i was going to throw it away).

I loaded the film like normal but before I closed the back I manually wound the film around the opposite spool. I guess I fooled the camera into thinking it had already wound the film.

When I closed the back of the camera everything worked fine.

I then snapped off the pics the camera said were left.

After this first role, I loaded the next role like normal. The camera worked like a charm!

By the way...the mirror dropped back down when I manually wound the film around the spool.

I hope this works...if it doesn't make any sense feel free to email me with any questions..

GOOD LUCK.
