Can lawn mower batteries be used in Pride Jet 3 scooters?

There's a lever on the side of the chair that you disengage to unlock it. First, make sure the chair is in gear and power is off, then unplug the Joystick from the base; just follow the cable coming out of the joystick to the rear of the chair where it plugs in and rock it back and forth to unplug.
Unlock the seat with the lever, and turn the seat slightly to the left or right and lift up. Usually, it will come right off. If it's been a while since it's been removed, or if a heavier person has been bouncing atop it, it may need more coaxing. Try squirting some WD-40 at the base of the seat where the pole connects and let it run down into the shaft of the pole. Wiggle seat back and forth a bit and try lifting at the same time.

Now you can access the batteries by lifting up on the corners of the cover called the shroud. These are held on by Velcro strips so just pull up and they will give way. You will see the two batteries inside. Replace them with sealed, gel-acid deep-cycle batteried, about 32-34 amp-hour rating. Fully charge for two or three hours before using. On first uses, let the batteries discharge almost to the red zone before charging overnight. After a week, they will be well broken in. Good luck.

Hi. The fault code you have is called the "Inhibit active".
It can be caused by a blown charger fuse, which causes the charger inhibit to activate.
Also if the 3-pin charger inhibit connector is not plugged in properly, or the connector is faulty, then the charger inhibit feature will activate.

Raine you need to purchase two U1 batteries for your Jet 3. I would check locally with a battery outlet store first because your cost can be less that $200.00 for both batteries this way. If the on-line comany wants more than $200.00 for the 2 batteries plus shipping I would look hard in the local area. Hope this helps

GREEN lights mean you have a full charge and you are ready to ride. YELLOW lights mean caution; it is time to charge your batteries. RED lights mean you have lost full power, you must charge your batteries for 8-14 hours. Here is a link to "The Scooter Store" if you should need to order parts or need any assistance from them.
