The drain hole is in the bottom of the window air conditioner and leaks down on the air conditioner in the window below it splashing the window....is there a drian hose and adaptor that can be purchased...if so where
If you cant do any better, cut a piece of plastic or flashing material and insert it under the ac so that the dripping water will fall on it and away from the building. If you make it long enough you can insert it under the unit in such a manner as to pinch it and hold it in place. You can bend it to suit. I have a number of houses with window units. The first thing I do when I get a replacement unit is pull the cover and drill a hole or two, 3/8 to 1/2. The largest I can drill and not touch the coils.

Leave it alone. DO NOT attempt to create a drain. As long as a window A/C unit is installed properly, (angled slightly down toward the rear) it will drain excess water over the rear lower lip of the unit should it get that high. Many models use some of the collected water/condensation. It gets lifted up by the fan blades to cool the coil.

The unit has to lean backward to let the water run out. It sounds like it is too level or leaning forward too much. There should be an adjusting screw in back that you can lower and it should work fine.

Modern window units intentionally do not allow the water to drain directly, they want the fan blade to sling the water on to the condensor (the coil that is outside) to aid in cooling actually helps the unit cool better in high outside temps, it also evaporates it this way, depending on where the hole was drilled it may be able to be repaired, if it was just a copper tube it will be less expensive than replacing the whole coil. Since its a relative inexpensive unit anyway the labor and freon may be more than its worth. Lesson learned dont drill a hole in the base it lowers it's efficiency and can lead to a punctured freon line.

I'm not sure why that drain hole is located where it is - but in any case - you're going to have to plug the existing hole and re-drill another drain hole at the back of the unit.
I would plug the unwanted hole with a 'liquid steel material,' i.e. JB Weld or something similar.
Note: be careful when re-drilling the new drain hole and don't drill a hole in your condenser.
good luck!

Some don't have a drain hole anymore. As long as you have it tilted slightly, any excess water will drain out. If your house or room feels good, it's working. It won't pull moisture out of the air if the air has already been dehumidified.
