You can reset all to factory settings, which may help; unplug power, put back in switch on with power button. Then press together "tape", "CD" and the power button. You may need to reset the clock before it will work. If you need the manual, here is the link; http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2048589112.pdf check page 26 for the reset if not clear - nothing else in there that seems to be related, but you may find something i missed. Hope this helps :)

There's a button that turns the speakers OFF right above the headphone jack.

Are you looking for connectors on speakers or need wires that hooked in speaker and home theater system?
Please intimate model number that is written on main home theater system to provide you info about speaker wires.

Connect RCA Red-White audio cable to INPUT of DAV-HDX500 and hook it to TV AUDIO OUT pins at back of TV.
Now select INPUT in DAV-HDX500 to get TV sound in Sony system speakers.

You can buy the mounts the rear speakers from sony style for about $40. They match the color of the speakers. The sony style website is the only place i found the mounts for these speakers.

WIthout knowing the specific model, I can't be 100% sure, but a number of models in that vintage had a problem with cracked ribbin cables that go to the drawer unit. Replacing the cable usually fixed the problem. What is the specific model number?

The flashing standby light indicates the system detects a fault. When the ?/1 (?/1 is the symbol for the standby button lamp) indicator flashes Immediately unplug the mains lead and check the following items. ? If your system has a voltage selector, is the voltage selector set to the correct voltage? Check the voltage for your region, then make sure the voltage selector is set correctly. ? Are the + and ? speaker cords short circuited? ? Are you using the supplied speakers? ? Is anything blocking the ventilation holes on the rear of the system? (The thermal cut out may be operating but more likely after a longer period of use) Check all the above items and fix any problems found. After ?/1 indicator stops flashing, reconnect the mains lead and turn on the system. I f the indicator still flashes, or if the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
