Question about Hayward 1 12 Hp Super Swimming Pool Pump Sp2610x15

Pump stops suction when I try to vacum pool

The pressure is at 5 and when I connect the vacum hose to the skimmer basket the pressure goes to 0 and then nothing

1. Something is stopping the seal at the basket
2. The hose going to the filter housing is partially clogged or not sealed
3. If you have a 2nd filter basket before filter housing, clogged/not sealed
4. Filter is clogged and needs to be cleaned, not just dirt, but degreased
5. Leaking pressure valve if one is used

I had a large filter and regular pressure was well above 5 psi, (8 to 10psi) with everything cleaned and running, once vacuum hose was connected it jumped to 14 to 18 psi.

SOURCE: Pool skimmer has poor suction and I've adjusted

change the gasket on the pump lid. If this doesnt work seal inlet to pump with silicone as a quick fix - or replumb with teflon tape and teflon sealant. If this does not work you could have debris stuck in your impeller. Also check drain plugs to make sure that they are tight (reseal with teflon tape if necessary.

please check your impellar it sounds like it is broken this is the part that really moves the water if motor is ok then it would most likely be this .

de filters clog very fast i suggest put vac in pool put hose over pool attach a wet vac to get water out of hose remove wet vac and vac saves de and water

if you are getting a suction noise at the skimmer then that means you need more water in the pool. Also if you have anything in the skimmer basket like tablets then take out the basket when you are using the vac. the only other thing I can think would be the problem would be the filter is clogged. I know you have back washed it but I would do it again to be sure it is not dirty. good luck

Do you have an in floor cleaning system? If so, the skimmer might be on a cycle and might not always have suction. Mine does this, and the skimmer (where u hook up the vacuum hose) only has suction for about 10 min. Try flipping your valve arms different ways to turn off the in floor heads

Check your pool cleaners filter screen in the in-line filter system and make sure that it is clear of debris. Also check the skimmer, basket, pump basket, and pool filter to make sure that they don't have anything blocking suction. A loss of suction would definitely make the cleaner stop moving. Make sure that your hoses and connections do not have leaks that could be causing air to to escape.

Our intex pool pump has no suction.

Start by checking all the clamps on the hoses at pump and at Skimmer, and tighten. Next, see if there is any visible cracks in suction hose and replace if cracked or leaking. Next, if that doesnt fix, loosen clamp and remove hose from front of pump and look inside to see if any debri is clogging the impeller, if so you can use a screwdriver to clean out. and last, make sure skimmer basket is empty and not packed with leaves and debri.

Hello, I have a pentair whisperflo 1hp pump and it seem to have very little water pressure coming into the basket and my skimmer has very little suction as well. Any suggestions Thank you, Ali

turn the pump off, remove the lid and pump basket. reach your finger inside to see if there is any debris caught in the impeller. MAKE SURE the pump cannot come on at any point while you're working on it.
That should do the trick, if not, investigate an air leak on the suction side of the pump. Causes: bad lid 0-ring, threads on suction fitting leaking air in, or if there is a union on the suction side, make sure it's tight and the o-ring is in good condition (add lube as necessary).

Check all of the hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could cause loss of water pressure. Make sure that your wheel RPM is correct.

If you are not getting any suction to the vacuum, but the pump is working fine the rest of the time, start by checking all of your connections that conncets the cleaner to the filter and pump. Make sure there are no cracks, lose hoses, etc. Then, check for the following common problems with your pump that might cause low pressure in pool pumps:

1) Pump not primed

2) Leakage of air into suction system

3) Impeller clogged

4) Valve in suction or discharge line partly closed; Suction or discharge

line partly plugged or too small.

5) Plugged basket in skimmer or hair in lint strainer

6) Dirty filter.

Try these troubleshooting techniques for this automatic pool cleaner. First, check the thrust jet and make sure that it is getting proper thrust. Check the filter screen in the in line filter and clean it is necessary. Make sure that your skimmer basket and pump basket are clear of obstructions. Check your hoses and connections to make sure that you don't have any leaks. A loss of water pressure could be your problem.
