So the computer is dectecting the device and on the screen it is saying on the Player High Speed Capable Connected and charging the battery... I have loast the reciept of purchace.. Any Ideas????? Thankyou
I've had a similar problem - USB device malfunctioed/not recognised with my PDP2842. Would charge from the PC though.
I have found that if the player is plugged in and turned on when starting up the PC that it has been recognised and been able to use Media Player 11 to sync my music - still won't hot plug however not really worried if the above works which is has on numerous occasions now. Uses a Windows driver when working.

You can reformat your mp3 player by plugging it to your computer. Connect it using the USB connection provided by your player. Once detected, go to My Computer and then right click the assigned drive to your Mp3 player and then select format. Hope this could help you..Please don't forget to rate me..:-) Thanks..
You need a new battery. This is fairly straight forward replacement. But high voltages exist inside case.Case is opened from the back after removing the two visible screws. It is held on with doublesided tape so you need to carefully prise open using a sharp blade where it joins the silver/chrome centre flang.Good luck!Battery sits above the hard drive wrapped in a sponge layer.
Is it possible you deleted system files along with other files by mistake?
It's a very common problem, and it would be good to know what causes this since some people say its because the Lyra allows you to delete system files which screws the device.
I heard of someone that called Thomson helpline with this problem and got his replaced, so it wouldn't hurt to try.
RCA has this page on the problem: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/Cultures/en-US/RLDetail.html?ArticleNum=112&PC=
It might help...
And there's this program that is said to help with the formatting, get it here along with some instructions: http://www.techolio.com/rd2780_upgrade/
Good luck!
