Question about Nikon COOLPIX S6 Digital Camera
I know this is really late, but I've been having the same problem with the S6 on and off for the whole year, and I suspected a loose part. For a whole week, I couldn't turn on my camera, and the lens cap doesn't close until five minutes later. So I did what someone should really not do to a camera- I got my lens cloth and pushed on the lens directly as the stuttering noise occured. It works! The camera now turns on and off! Right now, it works okay for a while, but I suspect it might getting weird again, so I will try pushing it in harder next time and see if that will fix it for longer. other than than, make a better choice the next time you buy a camera! =\ I hope this will help others who have the same problem. Please email me at [email protected] for any other solutions and/or comments.

Go with samuelkyl's solution on this page. I have a Coolpix S6 and sceptically tried samuelkyl's solution. I used a plastic pen cover to press on the lens. Low and behold it worked! Fantastic.
