Tap or hit the cybershot logo. It fixed my white screen. I didnt think it would work but sure enough. My camera is working like new.

Can you believe it! I was about to send it back and have to pay for shipping and for the repair! I read this site as a last resort by typing in screen on camara goes white and this site popped up with the solution of tapping the logo!
THANK GOD for the internet. I would like to know how you found this out. This could be a defect in the product and SONY is screwing people out of money to have them repaired!

I had a white screen and tapped the logo and it worked. Surely this is a problem Sony should get a grip of!

I think a gentle tap near the LCd casing might clear the problem. If the LCD is defective come back to me. my e mail id is [email protected]

The LCD connector -Flexible has to be pulled out and reconnected after cleaning.Use a good Tweezers so that the film does not get damaged. If this does not improve, and if the images are ok. after you connect to a PC,the LCD display has to be replaced. For a service manual or spares you can write to me. http://asia.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/videospare/album?.dir=da14&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//asia.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/videospare/my_photos pL.SEE THE LINK FOR A PREVIEW OF THE LCD SCREEN AND CONNECTORS

It could be simply a loose LCD screen connector which would be under $100 from an independent repair shop. Or it might be a defective CCD which is a FREE warranty repair by Sony. Go here to troubleshoot it yourself and get the link to get a mailing label to Sony : http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html

When trying to take pictures outside the screen goes blank.

Try to manually make it so that it is set to outdoor settings. Or maybe try low brightness and no flash.

White LCD Screen

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Fuji should fix this for you for free. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

LCD Screen shows Kodak Logo when turned on then goes blank.

You've probably corrupted the firmware download. If the camera is still recognized by your PC then I'd try downloading the firmware again and try to load it again into the camera. I don't wish to upset you but corrupting the firmware can in some instances make the camera unusable. Your manual should tell you if there's a reset and how to do it. Don't forget the camera's firmware can also be upgraded by loading the update onto the memory card and running it from there. GOOD LUCK BMW
