Seems that the hard drive may have died. try replacing the hard drive with a new ide hard drive that's under 120 gigs. then the front of box will have some lights flashing for awhile. It is formatting the drive when it is doing that. Once done flashing you will get back to the webtv screen. It should then call up the webtv toll free number and then from there call up your local office. it should download over a hundred or so files to reprogram the missing guide and dvr software. once it reboots the tv funcations should return . It should act the same when you have a power outage ie downloading the latest guide info. you should have the tv back at this point. If you have problems still with missing channels or says you have not paid for programming , then you need to call directv. now it also have more disk space if you were using the orginal 40 gig hard drive , your new 120 gig should be about 100-110 hrs of worth of recordings. Don't bother with a bigger drive it will not format anything higher than a 120 gig drive. good luck if you still have it

Is it reasonable to assume your router requires password / ssid to secure internet access ?
Due to age of this device,
(1) Lower / disable current router security settings
(2) connect device directly to modem. ( softest, easiest way )
This may require you to disconnect modem from router, reset your modem then connect cable direct between modem and DTR 40.1 device.
When completed, the Modem ( and Router ) may need be reset, prior to re-connecting network

Im trying to hook my insignia flat screan tv to my mitsubishi M-VR900 recevier the tv has plug for audio out and recevier has a tv audio in red/whit plug and i have 2 speakers i have on the front spearker...

Go into the onscreen menu of your TV, find and select the audio options. Make sure the audio out on the TV is enabled (this might be an automatic feature and might not be displayed -it depends on your TV model). Next make sure your receiver is working and (if it is so equipped) make sure your speaker switch is enabled.
Make sure all of your cables are working. You can do this by switching out the cables one at a time for ones you know are good.
Make sure no headphones are plugged into your receiver or the TV -this usually turns off your audio signal to any speakers.
Your TV remote may be equipped to control the volume output of the external audio out signal. Some TVs automatically turn off the internal speakers when you hookup or select an external audio output. turn up the volume on both (your TV and the Mitsubishi).
Does the Mitsubishi work on other sources (DVD, radio etc...)?
Remember to double check your cable connections -audio OUT from the TV to audio IN into the Mitsubishi. Reversed connections can damage your TV and amplifier electronics.
What model is your Insignia? Some are equipped with digital outputs which, if your receiver is so equipped as well, can send surround sound (home theatre) signals to your receiver. These can be orange-colored rca jacks or optical jacks. They do not send analog audio signals.
Once all the cables are double-checked, (double-check your speaker connections!), turn on your receiver, TV and signal source (cable, satellite DVD etc...), bring the volume control (both on the Mitsubishi and the TV) up to nominal levels. You should hear sound.
One more thing:
Make sure your speakers work. You can try them on another amp or simply touch the speaker terminals with a 9-volt battery (the speakers should move in or out depending on the 'phase' of the connection).
Hope that helps.

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I would be happy to help you with connecting your receiver to your TV. I would need a little more information from you in order to do so. Please send me a message with a little more information on where you are trying to connect this, has a receiver ever been connected in this location before and what type of connections are you using. You can also send this information to my email address at [email protected] and I can help you that way as well. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

Hello tsaucier, my name is MichaelHurst with DISH Network. Is your receiver plugged directly to the wall outletor to a surge protector/power strip? Unplug the DISH receiver for 10 secondsand plug back in. (It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to becompleted). Ifthereceiver is currently plugged into a surge protector, bypass the surgeprotector and plug the receiver directly into a wall outlet. If you are stillhaving issues try another outlet. If this doesn't remedy the issue then thereceiver will have to be replaced.

How do i turn it on?

  • If you have the TV Code listing, first set up:
  • Slide the TV/WebTV switch to TV.
  • Find the brand of your TV
  • Press the Code Set button.
  • Use the Number buttons to enter the three-digit code for your brand of TV.
  • Press the return button.
  • Slide the TV/WebTV switch back to WebTV.
To see if the keyboard operates your TV, press the Power (TV) button. If the TV turns on or off, the Keyboard successfully operates the TV. Hope this helps.

Though it shows network signal excellent does not to the net wort

How is your router set up? Are you using WPA or WEP security? WEP is the newer encryption and I'm affraid 9500 doesn't support this. Would try update firmware and hope that Nokia integrated fix for this in to the update.

My remote working but recevier doesnt get signal

i have the same problem, have you found a sollution yet?

On and off switch

This is the thermal overload for the amplifier section. unplug unit and check all speaker connections for a crossed wire. After all connections are checked and are in good condition, plug the amp back in and power up. Note: the polarity of the speakers when the wires are plugged in. Use the painted line on the speaker wire as a guide for which one is positive(+) and negative (-). If an amplifier is operated out of phase for too long ( positive and negative reversed), you can damage the amp. A bad speaker coil can cause the overload as well. If it still does it, disconnect all speakers and power it up. If these remedies do not solve it, you amplifier IC is shorted and needs replaced.
