CAN ANYONE HELP SOLVE THIS PROBLEM URGENTLY?

We have a Sony digital handycam PC 105E. We have just gone to check the camera so we can record our granddaughters 1st special Christmas, when the symptoms below happened! Can anyone please help and give us a diagnosis on what may be wrong? It would be very much appreciated. Also can anyone help tell us in the LONDON SE Area of a very good camcorder repairs service, as Sony want to charge a fortune to look at & repair, and at this time of year ( 12 days to Christmas), it's an expense we could do without. Here Are The Symptoms: Turn on -> Camera -> theres NO Sound -> the "Clock Set" comes up -> Flash pops up & charges LCD Screen is fine all seems ok, BUT Touch screen will not work -> FN is live and seems to work, BUT nothing happens. -> Turn on -> VCR - NO SOUND -> Full like touch display but nothing works, Sensors change colour but do not work -> Turn on -> Memory - NO SOUND -> DOES NOT RECOGNISE MEMORY STICK "CLOCK SET" Flashes Many thanks

many thanks for your help and suggestion, its very much appreciated.
We have recharged the internal battery, in the manual it suggests charging for 24 hours if the camera hasn't been used for 3 months +
So we put on charge for 24 hours as suggested, but these symptoms still there.
Does the camera have to go to camcorder repairers to change the internal battery? Can we get to it and how?

    many thanks again

    Take Care.

    Hi again,
in the manual, it says if the camera hasn't been used for three months, the little battery (hearing aid battery)inside will go flat, so it needs to be recharged, which we have done.
The little battery will only work on the clock settings, date ect ect, it wouldn't explain why the zoom is not working, although i think we can still record, but cannot rewind or fast forward as the touch display doesn't work at all on the camera.
I really do appreciate all your help in this matter.

    many thanks again.

I was given the same model camera with the same symptoms and was about to pull it to bits just for fun, I popped in an old tape and plugged earphones in and was surprised to have sound and picture! but a couple of days later back to the same?

Unless somebody comes up quickly with a better solution for you, it may be an internal battery problem, especially if you keep having to set the time. For your local repairer click on this Sony support page. http://www.sony.co.uk/support/ShowExternalPageForProduct.action?supportProductModelName=DCR-PC105E&targetTab=externalLinkType_manual&site=odw_en_GB&page=ProductSupportDealerLocator§iontype=Support&externalUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fpdf.crse.com%2Fmanuals%2F3081627112.pdf&externalLinkType=manual

The battery you would have charged is the main power battery, the battery thats inside is like a hearing aid battery size, which would have to go to a camera repairer.

Hod you go from a cassette to DVD??

Sony DCR-TRV510 is digital handycam and records video signal in digital format on tape.
Digital Video signal requires a software Picture Package installed in PC to transfer files. You can check camera box to find software cd for the same.
You also need to hook camera trough iLink port to  iLink / DV port in PC. You can find details in user manual of handycam and still need help, let me know.
