My tr580 will operate perfectly as expected once started from cold and occasionally will allow a rewind, but mostly once it's been used for a while, any attempt to rewind will result in some beeping and an eject message. From then on you have a 1 in 10 chance that the play button might work, so you can then continue to watch but have no opportunity to rewind. I presume from previous similar experience with my Canon E60 that some capacitors may have given up? Any help would be appreciated. regards, Kev.
Hello Phalphy, capacitors are OK. The trouble is in the mechanism. Please contact your nearest Sony Service. Best regards, Arpad

Sony camcorder will not rewind. Playing , and recording and fast forward operate. Doesn't rewind use the same motor as FF? Is there anything I can do to repair the problem or test.
